Gold Coast Down Winder

Hi Guys/Gals,
SEQKA is holding another down winder on either the 17th or 18th January (wind permitting). If the wind God doesn't come to
the party we may have to drown our sorrows again!
The ride will be from Phillip Park, Main Beach and the
corner of Santa Monica Rd and Marine Parade at Nobbys Beach. Obviously
the start and finish will be determined by the wind direction those
days.
Check the Announcement forums of SEQKA and Seabreeze closer to the date for times of the bus and schedule.
A
bus will be provided but will be limited to 80 riders. The cost will be
$5 for members or $30 for non-members. The Club BBQ fired up at the
completion for all the hungry people, soft drinks will also be
available.
Looking forward to seeing all the old faces and lots of new ones too.

Liquid Force Kite Clinic

Date: Saturday 31st January 2009
Time: 10.30am to 4.30pm
Location: Sandgate "The Pool", Brisbane (Flinders Parade, btn 7th & 8th Ave).
Program: 3 Kite Clinics - Beginners, Intermediates and Advance.
Toys: Slider, Rails, Wakeboarding (2 ski boats) & Powerwinching (160m lines!). Advance clinic participants will also have video analysis session and tuition with radio helmets.
Instructors: Liquid Force Sponsored Rider Tony Prest + Surf Connect team of 7 IKO Instructors & Sponsored Riders
Cost: $50 for under 19, $80 for 19+. Includes free BBQ.

Beginners clinic will cover all aspects of kiteboarding, from safety, equipment, setup, launching and landing, self-rescue, right of way, water-starting, riding, staying upwind, edging and transitions.
Intermediate clinic will cover jump transitions, boosting, unhooking, raileys, riding toe-sides, backloops and forward loops.
Advanced clinic will cover Board offs, riding blind, s-bends, unhooked kiteloops and downloops, handle passes, back mobes, NIS, slim chance, KGB.....

Brighton Ride Day SEQKA

What better way than to welcome these terrific winds than a ride day on
Brisbane's most popular northern beach. All level of riders can attend
this day but you are required to be a member of AKSA.
There will be a free BBQ and soft drinks will be available for
purchase. This is a family day as well, so please bring everyone along
to enjoy the festivities.
Where: Corner of Nineteenth Avenue and flinders Parade, Brighton
When: 21st or 23rd March if this weekend has no wind we shall post it
on all sites by 5pm Friday 20th. There will be no back up date.
Time: 11am till 4pm
There will be a 'Big Air Shootout' and 'Expression Session' and prizes will be awarded, as well as a free ride all day.
