Real Adventure Women (RAW) - Kitesurfing


RAW (Real Adventure Women) gives Brisbane women the opportunity to experience a variety of sporting and recreational activities in a safe, supportive and non-competitive environment.

As part of the Brisbane City Council's Active and Healthy Lifestyle program it encourages women to participate in low cost 'come and try' activities across different themes such as 'Women on Water', 'Women on Wheels', and 'Women in the Wild'.

Adventure Women is based on the successful RAW program.

It gives the women of Pine Rivers, Redcliffe and Caboolture the opportunity to develop skills, build confidence and form new friendships while enjoying and exploring Pine Rivers Shire and surrounds.  

Adventure Women participants can experience twenty five sporting and recreational activities including canoeing, archery, surfing, cycling, abseiling and many more.

Snow Kiting 		Meet the World Champ Snow Kiter

World champion snowkiter Remi Meum from Norway(www.remimeum.com) will visit several Australian ski resorts from the 9th-the 23rd of July.

Remi has been an international team rider for Nobile Snowsports equipment for the past 2 + years and now with the support of Alpine Attitude (Roman Nowinski,the Australian sales agent for Nobile kiteboarding gear )  and others such as Feed The Rat and Mt. Hotham Lift Company they are proud to invite you to join Remi during his Aussie tour.

Remi will arrive in Adelaide on the 7th of July and next day with the Alpine Attitude team we will have a welcome party for him at the QZONE shop in Glenelg (Adelaide) where everyone is welcome between 4-8pm with free drinks and finger food available.

His next stop will be Mt.Hotham from the 9th-16th of July where there's a growing list of demonstrations, video presentations etc being organized to profile his skill and this great new sport.

We will keep you posted about Remi's other intended ski resort visits after his initial time at Hotham.

Snow Kiting 		Melbourne - Drinks with Remi 9 July

An evening with champion snowkiter Remi Meum.

We’re pleased to announce that Remi will be in Melbourne on Wednesday the 9th of July and hosting several of his videos and sharing some stories of snowkiting adventures around the world.

This will be the only time this season Remi will be in Melbourne, as he’s off to Mt Hotham for the week after that.

It’s sure to be a great evening, so feel free to come along but please send an email to john@kiterepublic.com.au to let us know you’re coming.

Time: 6.00PM for a 6.30 start. Finish at around 7.30 but feel free to stay on for a meal and home brewed beers.

Windsurfing 		Lord Howe Winter Windsurf Trip

Come and windsurf this unique World Heritage Island. Regular Tourism downtime so prices very reasonable.

Cranking SW this time of year. see pictures in photos.

I am organising it on a for cost basis, not a commercial undertaking. I just want to see some more people come and enjoy this amazing destination. Winter in Lord Howe is purpose built for windsurfers, sail on an amazing lagoon, discover a reef break that no one has ever sailed. No wind? dive/snorkel the world's Southernmost coral reef or catch a kingfish. There are also fantastic walks and birdlife to experience.

Kitesurfing 		IKO Instructor Training Courses

Hi Everyone,

We finally have some dates for the next two IKO Instructor Training Courses.  They will be held here in Perth on the 10/09/08 and also the 17/09/08.  There are two seperate courses each running for 5 days.

You MUST have the prerequisites before you will be admitted to the courses.  Prerequisites can be viewed here http://kiteboardingschool.com.au/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=90&Itemid=67  You must have the RST and First Aid BEFORE entering the course.
