The ITC (IKO Instructor Training Course) is now full but we do have one space on the IEC (Instructor Equivalency Course).
This is to be able to convert your BKSA instructor qualification into the IKO instructor qualification. This course runs for the same time as the full ITC but is much cheaper. Please contact us for more details.

Being a kitesurfing Instructor is a pretty rewarding job – luckily, because you have to stand there watching your mates having fun while you work. But the list of benefits and possibilities are great, plus you get to spend all day on the beach…
Where: Redcliffe, QLD (20 mins North of Brisbane City)

IKO offers a reliable and professional training program. Instructors become IKO certified by attending the 5 days Instructor Training Course (ITC). The training program corresponds precisely to kiteboarding teaching methods. The certification is recognized as one of the international standards in teaching.
At the end of the training, you will have developed abilities in the following major areas: safety, practical environment, analysis, technique, teaching psychology and live situation.
After attending an ITC, you will be qualified as IKO Instructor Level 1 and will be able to continue your pro training to become a Level 2."
Before you attend:
To complete the ITC (Instructor Training Course) you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be a competent kiteboarder with at least 1 years experience. You’ll need to demonstrate this by showing us a triple backflip. (Not really, all you’ve gotta do is ride toeside and do a jump)
- Have an IKO Assistant Instructor certification or have logged 40 or more shadowing hours with an IKO level 2 Instructor and have an IKO letter of recommendation signed
- Have a valid first aid and CPR certificate.
- Pass all the online Pre-ITC Course offered by the IKO
- Have a powerboat license or Recreational Marine License.
- Must be able to read and write and speak fluent English.
