Tassie's Whitebait season open for six weeks

Tasmania's Whitebait season opened on 1 October 2010 and will remain open for six weeks, finishing up on Thursday 11 November.

Anglers targeting whitebait are reminded to grab a whitebait licence which check in at a cost of $27.00.

Whitebait can only be taken between sunrise and sunset and only in specified rivers opened specifically for the 2010 season.

A number of other strict rules apply regarding targeting whitebait and anglers should visit the Inland Fisheries Service website for all those details.
