WA Fisheries and Marine Officers wanted

Western Australia's Department of Fisheries has recently kicked off a recruitment drive for people interested in becoming Fisheries and Marine Officers (FMOs).

Following a comprehensive 12-week training course in Perth the FMOs could be appointed to locations from Broome to Esperance or as part of patrol vessel crews to help enforce new recreational fishing regulations which come into force in October.

The range of tasks FMOs can be involved in include apprehending offenders, collecting evidence, putting together education and awareness campaigns or undertaking commercial and recreational fishing compliance along the coastline.

For more information on the positions visit the Department of Fisheries website.
