Ocean Ambassadors clean up beaches in Fiji, then the world

"It's good to have a week hanging out with good friends in paradise; surfing, kiting, and paddleboarding - then you come to a beach and this is what it looks like. Every single island through the pacific. This is why we started ocean ambassadors."

The guy speaking, is walking along a beach in Fiji, with the sand literally covered in driftwood and plastic. Bottles. Bags. Wrappers. Packaging. You name it; it's washed up on a beach somewhere, and that's what the Ocean Ambassadors are trying to turn around. To do it, they're asking for your support, the kiteboarders and stand up paddlers of the world who get so much enjoyment from the ocean and being on the water. Right now they're focusing their efforts on the Fiji Islands with the support of Ozone kites, Veve Swimwear, Xenon boards and Kite Thrills on the Sunshine Coast. Over the next few years they hope to make a serious difference in Fiji, before expanding their efforts to the rest of the world.

They're also working with pilot Jeremy Rowsell, who's embarking on a journey halfway around the world in his single engine aircraft in the next couple of years. A feat done by many, but never using exclusively a fuel made from recycled plastic! Hoping to raise awareness of not only the wasteful practices of the globes manufacturers and public, but the innovations in fuel production in Aviation.

To help, you can do one of two things! Firstly, you can help the cause by collecting some rubbish from the water, or beach in your local area. Second, you can support them by buying one of these awesome t-shirts, made exclusively from recycled PET bottles in Fiji and featuring some original art from Veve swimwear. Or, if you're the money giving type, simply donating via their website. Watch the promo video below to see just how polluted the beaches are in the pacific islands, with some spectacular kiting and stand up paddleboarding action thrown in for good measure.
