Winter is Coming! Read how to get new gear at a good price.

"Store owners are beginning to sell out their summer stock at the cheapest prices all season."
If someone was to plot a graph of kite store sales over a year, right now would be the bottom of the bell curve. March brings with it cries of 'Winter is coming', and although lessons might run through until April, store owners are beginning to sell out their summer stock at the cheapest prices of the season.

The best part, is that right now they've probably got some good stuff left, so get in and score a bargain with these great money saving tips for end of season kite sales.

Look for niche items. C-Kites, female specific models, small sizes and race gear has a high price tag through December, because those who really want it are prepared to pay for it. Now however, it's been sitting on the shelf for a few months, so if you're interested in it - chances are the shop staff will be prepared to move on it. This is great news for lighter riders and those riding niche disciplines, so use it to your advantage.

Ask what's out the back. Winter is a time for one-off items and empty storerooms for kite shops, ask the staff if there's anything they really need to clear (Like the ten 134cm twintips that are sitting in the shed, because they're just not 135's). Being up front with them lets both parties know you're after a bargain.

Don't be picky. Colour options are by now, not an option anymore. For the cheapest possible deal, be prepared to take whatever colour the kite store has left in stock - even the fluro green and pink one!

Shop locally. Store owners and staff really appreciate your business this time of year, and if there's anything they can do to help you out, they will. That includes swapping stock with other stores, ordering it in or giving you that little bit extra off. Say hi to your local store owner at the beach, give them a launch (for a change!) and thank them for the demo's they've run this season.
