Rob Pirie and the Stand Up paddle against plastic pollution
The Stand up paddle against plastic pollution
You may remember a fellow called Rob Kidnie, who paddled all the way up the Mekong River earlier this year to raise awareness for plastic pollution in the pacific region.

It was a mighty 11 day stand up paddling journey, but apart from the faint cry of 'I'm finished!' on the official Facebook page, we never got to see much of the journey or hear about how effective it was.

This week Rob has teamed up with a media production company and released a couple of video's, plus he's also updated his blog with a stack of great photo's of the trip. You can check these our here.

As well as promoting the stand up paddle online, Rob's been giving talks and information sessions at local universities in Tra Vinh, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. There's a couple of pictures here on his blog, or some little snippets hidden in amongst the video below. The Veitnamese media were pretty quick to support Rob's cause too - he's even scored the covershot on their biggest newspaper called Tuoi Tre!! (Which loosely translates to "Youth" in Vietnamese)

It's a long way from home for an Aussie Stand up paddler, and Rob Kidnie has done the stand up paddling community proud. His efforts have sparked worldwide attention, and to top it all off - he's made a great video for us all to watch, check it out below.
