Everybody's Welcome In The Nu Church of Surf

Times are a-changin' in the surfing world, and people are surfing quite literally anything they can get their hands on. You've seen the strange and whacky, but what's really considered strange these days? It's the Nu Church of Surf, where everybody is welcome.

"Surfing in 20016 is as all inclusive as it's ever been." Explains an un-named narrator from Stab. "But it wasn't always like this, every sport has its dark periods. In the late 90's and early 2000's, Saw the general populous stick to a strict diet of performance thrusters. Floating over any takeoff sport around the world today, it wouldn't be strange to find any combination of Twin fins, Singles, Soft tops, Logs, Alias, Bonzers, Keel, Hand Plants and Girls; who surf better than you. And what's not to like about that?"

Here at Seabreeze, we don't just like that, we LOVE it; having been members of the Nu Church of Surf since 1997. Julian Wilson from the Sunny coast has too, growing up surfing anything and everything - from soft tops with no fins, to shortboards with four. You have to in a place like Noosa, where the waves are small and your family heads for the beach every weekend.

Also sitting with us in the pews, is the ultimate waterman himself. Mr Kai Lenny. Currently firmly on the hydrofoil bandwagon, with a trail of loyal followers stretching from Maui around the world (probably several times; he will surf, sail, or paddle anything that floats. And he'll excel at it.

So these two were shipped out to Bali for a quick film shoot together, along with longboarder Alessia Marietti (who's foot gracefully stars in the photo above) to show off the harmonious culture that permeates surfing today. They called it 'Everybody's Welcome In The Nu Church of Surf', and we've got it right here for you!
