In a video released today, professional surfer and all round inspirational surfer girl – Beth Hamilton announced she’s pregnant. But wait! She’s been surfing Teahupoo!!

While she might not be the first to do it, when you consider the whole scenario going on, it’s quite a feat. First, you have a girl surfing at the level of Beth Hamilton, then, it’s Teahupoo, one of the heaviest waves on earth. Now she’s pregnant, and did we mention she has one arm?

You probably know the story, but Beth Hamilton was attacked by a shark back in 2003, and since then has spent her life living in pretty much exactly the same style as before it happened. Pro surfer, inspiration to young surfers both male and female all over the world, and star of many a surf movie.

Apparently she plans on surfing throughout her pregnancy, at least until she’s not afraid of squishing it while she paddles. In the meantime, it’s business as usual with sessions at Pipeline and Teahupoo only a couple of weeks ago.
