Caught On Camera

Watch the stars of the PWA perform in paradise.

With many of the world's elite windsurfers choosing Maui as their training ground, it's often worth logging on to the Mauwindcam site, to see who's out and about, and who's putting in the hours before the new season begins. Check out the Mauiwindcam by following this link HERE.

The camera at Camp One seems to pick up a lot of the action during the spring, with many windsurfing brands choosing it as their location of choice for photo shoots. Top professionals often caught on camera include the likes of Robby Swift (JP, NeilPryde), Kevin Pritchard (Starboard, Gaastra), and the PWA Chairman himself, Jimmy Diaz (Starboard, North).

Mauiwindcam was brought to life in 2001 by Ray Masters. He wanted to bring his 'back yard playground' to the world, which he has certainly managed. The site is constantly improving and in August 2007 saw a major overhaul with the introduction of a second cam looking down towards Kanaha. In May 2009 a third high-res camera looking out at the Kanaha Lowers break was added and the team invested significantly in the infrastructure they use to allow full streaming video of this famous spot to the Internet. The quality of the image from this new state of the art cam is arguably the finest on the Internet so be sure to check it out. And, more recently a fourth cam has been added to the arsenal looking out from Baby Beach towards the Sprecks break.

Mauiwindcam was featured at the top of a list of webcams to enjoy a virtual vacation, in a story by the Associated Pressand featured on MSNBC, Yahoo! News, The Seattle Times, The Atlanta Journal-Constitutionand The Canadian Online Explorer.

As well as the live streaming, you can watch videos from the Mauiwindcam from the last 60 days, they keep a gallery of their favourite images since the site began, and you can check out the latest news and weather.

If you find yourself with a spare moment in the office, log on to www.mauiwindcam.com and see how many PWA sailors you can spot hard at work!
