MOROCCAN MAGIC

The waiting game pays of for Robert Baldgya as he scores Morocco at its very best

Robert Baldyga (Quatro / Ezzy / MFC / GoPro) made his debut on the PWA World Tour at the age of just fourteen, back in 2003. Since then the Pole has continued to push his level, particularly in the waves, and was rewarded with joint 17th in Tenerife this year.

This winter Baldyga has carefully been monitoring the forecasts for Morocco for a fly on a forecast trip and his patience finally paid off. Over to Baldyga to tell you more:

"Morocco. We waited for a swell like this for a loooong time. Waves up to 4 meters with stunning 22-second period! We had no other choice than to buy tickets, pack up and meet at the airport. As we arrived in Moulay our host Ibrahim welcomed us with a tasty tajin. Following days began and ended pretty much the same way- morning session at low tide followed by an evening session. Through all 6 days of our stay, waves have been awesome and the wind also didn't bring us down. After 4 ideal days of sailing powered up on 4.5 we could see the progress we make from one our to another. The spot was empty with only three of us sailing all the time! Morocco usually works great but this time it was almost too big. Through last two days we had to really look after each other as waves were really powerful. Taking the equipment straight to the reef after every crash. Undoubtedly these were some of my best days on the water ever and I can't wait to score forecasts like that in the future."
