SYNOPTIC ANALYSIS Analysis
SYNOPTIC SITUATION:
Showers and thunderstorms in the SW Land Division away from the west coast, the
Goldfields and western Eucla. There is the chance of strong squalls, heavy rain
and hail with thunderstorms. In the north, isolated showers and thunderstorms
are forecast for the Kimberley, Pilbara, central and east Gascoyne and Interior.
 
By Wednesday the surface trough will move east with showers and thunderstorms
forecast over the eastern Central Wheat Belt, eastern Great Southern, Southeast
Coastal district, Goldfields and Eucla. Areas of drizzle is forecast over the
western south coast parts in the moist onshore flow west of the trough. In the
north, isolated showers and thunderstorms continuing over the Kimberley, inland
Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and Interior.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS:
By Thursday the trough and thunderstorm activity will have cleared the SW Land
Division, southern and central Goldfields and west Eucla, and should clear the
remaining Eucla and southern Interior during the morning.  Isolated showers and
thunderstorms in the remaining Interior, Kimberley, far NE Gascoyne, and inland
Pilbara. Areas of drizzle during the morning in the south coastal districts and
the adjacent Great Southern.
On Friday in the moist onshore flow areas of drizzle will continue in the South
and Southeast Coastal districts, adjacent Goldfields and Eucla during the
morning. Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the Interior, Kimberley, inland
Pilbara, eastern Goldfields, and eastern Eucla. 
On Saturday a ridge of high pressure will lie to the south of the state.
Isolated areas of drizzle early morning in coastal parts east of Denmark.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northern Interior, Kimberley, inland
Pilbara, and northern inland Gascoyne.

Tuesday until midnight: W/SW winds 13/18 knots. Seas to 1.5m. Swell to 1.0m.
Swell at Cottesloe:  to 0.3m.
Winds on Melville Water: 5 knots lighter. 

Wednesday: S/SW winds 10/15 knots increasing S/SW winds 15/20 knots during the
afternoon. Seas to 1.5m. Swell to 1.0m.
Swell at Cottesloe:  to 0.3m.
Winds on Melville Water: Similar. 

Thursday: S/SE winds 10/15 knots tending S/SW winds 18/23 knots during the
afternoon. Seas 1.5m to 2.0m. Swell to 1.0m.
Friday: S/SE winds 13/18 knots tending S/SW 20/30 knots in the afternoon.

Current Swell Observations:
Rottnest Waverider Buoy:  0.9m.
Cottesloe Waverider Buoy: 0.3m.
