Howdy folks, I'm back again needing your help.

Have been watching these forums for years, they really have provided such a crazy diversity of thought, that this would hopefully be the place for a solution.

About 18 months ago the beings from hell moved in next door to us. I remember sitting bolt upright in my lounge as their primal gruntings first shuddered through our house.

From then on it has been a roller coaster:
the happy family[primal screaming and door slamming , sending shockwaves through our house 160 times a day],

the not so happy family
[primal screaming and door slamming 160 times a day, coughing and phlegm being spat up against the fence 50 times a day, "baby, you've got to let me go out with my friends, I wouldn't shag around, I love these kids too much " twice a week]

and lastly the happy family is no more, the missus has moved on
[kids evey second weekend, primal screaming and door slamming 160 times every 13th and 14th day].

Their patio built right up to the dividing wall, no mucous spit ball goes unheard.

Unfortunately lastly has taken on another dimension, Santa brought the lovelost a high powered radio with a massive bass speaker , a punch bag and 10 teenage friends. For the last 3 months the shockwaves have been blasting through our house.

Numerous requests to contain the noise have been ignored and now the bastards have threatened the safety of my 18 month old pup, who strangely enough barks when all the above drama is going on a against the dividing fence, metres from our house.

While retaliation is the primary thought, that will just lead to losses all around.
Council complaint, a toothless tiger. Involve the cops, they don't care unless a man goes down.

It seems as though I'm stuffed unless I want to move to options that would land me in prison.

Please folks, help me out here.

How does one deal with people who are shafting you so badly and deserve some payback ?

Thank the Lord that they moved out from our neighbourhood.

Sorry you've got them now. Surely there's only the one ar#%@ole in this city.

Not much you can do. Double glazing? Ear plugs? Join them? Befriend them.

Try to approach them when they are not making a noise and in the quiet of the situation assertively rather than aggressively put your point.

If others in the neighbourhood are suffering the same from them, you might, as a group, put your point to the Local Government Authority specifying times, dates etc.

When the stereo is on, go to the fuse box and pull out the main fuse (and take it with you). Quickly run away and deny all involvement, say it must have been any of the other neighbors who is sick of the noise.

It only works once, if you try it twice they will be on the lookout for you...

I really feel for you having had a similar experience twenty years ago. I reached the conclusion then that there was bugger all you could do other than move away. Confrontation brings out the worst ( they see at as being the best) in them.

People who behave in a fashion that takes no heed of neighbours and are never going to listen to reason nor are they going to change so short of having a little fun putting together a recording of their antics using a cheap directional mike and some humour I think you will have to hire a trailer.

I feel for you!

Put your house on the market. Pay for the neighbours to go on holiday while it is for sale.

Geez maaaaatte !! its not a fair world, i know you can't do anything

nasty or un-toward, so I would suggest an old Labor Party trick [}:)]

It worked well for them when they wanted to restore some order,

They bought a 44 gallon drum of real rough red and let the ."people" have a

free party. I recon if you did that they would cause enough mayhem thruout

the community as for you to have some reward.....best of luck

I'm thankful that I don't have a neighbor like that. What i would suggest is you talk to them nicely and tell them your concern.

i had the same problem.

i reacted to noise problem from neighbour, it turned violent.

i got punched in the face, had my unit broken into on same day with $400 stolen.

luckily they have moved out, just before i did.

my advice, do not make a bad situation worse.

put up with it or move out, but do not react to it.

Have you rung the Police at the time the noise is going on so they can give them a Noise Abatement Notice?
Or rung the council who can use a noise level meter and prosecute them under their bylaws?

I'm having a similar problem..but not quite as bad.
I did a google search, and if they threaten you in anyway (including your dog I assume) it's harassment. I don't know if it's true or not, but it could be. Here's the link anyway.

My neighbour currently likes to practise his drums about 3 hours a day...everyday. This can be 8am on a Saturday or Sunday morning. He also likes to practise with his band/group of mates who can't sing or play guitar or make any sort of good sounding noise. Great fun...

a few tonnes of manure from the local stables delivered right to their door.

i mean right to their door.

5 tonnes of blue metal delivered right to their door.

dynamic lifter, dilluted in a bucket of water, delivered to their door, at regular intervals.

DOCS delivered to their door every 13th and 14th day.

complaints to council and police do go unnoticed, until you ring every bloody day.

18mth old puppy poo over the dividing wall everyday.

record all interaction and threats with a camera as future evidence

I think he was after a workable solution rather than a guest spot on a current affair.

None of these are going to change their behavior other than getting them to take a swipe.

Biological warfare my friend.
The Brits did it to the native Americans and Australians... so you know it works.

1.- Go visit somebody with a seriously contagious disease in the hospital (pretending to be a priest always gets you through).
2.- Get them to spit in a sample bottle.
3.- Make some food or drink.
4.- Serve it to your "friends".

Police are only here to fine people for speeding. Tell them there's speeding going on to draw them in... or maybe things work differently in WA.

You could always just move... I had to once cos this FAT mother f****r who lived on top of me couldn't walk on his feet but instead walked on his feels... the lights used to shake. (he wouldn't accept my lemonaid).

I've also played "I'm an asshole" by Denis Leary really loud... and had my $6000 home theater equipment confiscated :(

Forget the pup....

Buy a nasty Ridgeback. Mine can jump quite high too.[}:)]

Gives people a new perspective on life if they get eyeballed by a snapping mongrel over the fence occasionally. Oh and they love kids too - I don't mean as a snack.

A lady I know was having trouble for a couple of years with young kids meeting at the park next door playing headbanging stuff at all hours, she just got a big spotlight on a sensor aimed at them with some really loud classical music to go with it and they ended up moving on. When the kids come to stay maybe play some classical music loudly over the fence from 7 am until lunchtime and disturb their sleep and they may not want to come back

If you know any one that works at a sewage treatment plant, get them to get you a bucket of digester or humous sludge, and spread it about.

Take them out with a nuclear war head.
Big W have specials on at the moment.
However you might have to do a few repairs on your fence following the blast

This was might thought too...as I do know it has worked in the past.

Any legit ways would probably not work with people like this..
I would be putting a bucket of stinky fish disguised near the fence in question and
and go away for a weekend...well that probably won't work.

Us and all our neighbours are staying right were we are ...exactly for this reason
we all wanted to move...but the piece and serenity we have we just can't give up.
The funny thing is..we all have dogs and don't have a problem at all..they just don't bark..and we all work different hours...god I love my street

Really LOUD Classical music (Beethoven's 9th is good) alternated with some original Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix at Woodstock is a good one.

I think most unintelligent people have an aversion to Beethoven and Hendrix.

You could even try some boiler making in your backyard.

Noise activated police sirens????

10 points, i can vouch for that.
My neighbour opens all his doors and windows, then blasts that **** to max volume. I cant do **** about it, as im still living with my folks, therefor i cant counter my own music to some level. When ever i heard that **** playing, im finding an excuse to leave the house.

Edit; well not so much Jimi Hendrix, my neighbours veronicas album + opera does the trick

Sadly, this only going to get his house trashed or get him beaten up. Unless he is prepared to do a body in barrels job, all he can do is put up with it. The good news is they are not breaking into his house.

I can't offer any advice QuiteOne. Only, try not to snap and do something stupid. Selling up may be the best option.

Try this in the middle of their party. Google "liqiud ass" it's way nasty stuff.
It was Sat afternoon, the noise started at 4.30pm and it was pumping, it had been going on for months, but alas the delivery had arrived. The silly pricks were stupid enough to leave the front door wide open. They copped half a bottle straight down the hallway onto the carpet. Within a minute or so, major evacuation. Just had to put up with the whinging about the stench for a while after.

Ok well!!!!]

You need a solution!?

Send all the West Aussie Seebreeze people an invite to your place
for a discussion on what to do about these people...
Maybe 50 people at a time...

after a few weekends of putting your point across with loads off
people that hate this situation as much as we all do...it should
get a result.

I feel for you mate, sadly the people in question will win the war if you try most of the tactics suggested. I can only suggest you keep ringing the police/ council and let them earn their keep. they will get tired of going around there, and the neighbour will eventually snap and do or say something stupid to THEM, problem solved.
It will probably get worse, but you have to use you brains to win this type of battle.
if you do something illegal you'll get busted cos your an easier target to deal with.

It took us 15 years to finally get the drug dealer down the street properly busted, and when they did it they ripped the front off his house to get in. that was worth waiting all those years for
