Eg iPhone, where you put the cable in the bottom. I think I spilled some V energy drink on the rechager plug and sometimes I get funny messages come up for attachments that only come up when you plug things in like iTrip ect when Im not using an accessory. Im not sure what to use with out killing my phone?

There are areosol products for this purpose... check the Dick Smith catologue on-line... Altronics on Roe St would also be worth a phone call.

pure alcohol should do the job. Just make sure it's got no water in it. Alternatively de-ionised water shouldn't have any salts in it and is non conductive. But it only needs a tiny amount to make it conduct.

Theres a place over east online (sorry cant remember their name), but a mate has used them twice once to fix a cracked screen & the other time for the connection port replacement. Sent it & was back in only a few days, cheap too. If i find the site i'll post it.

+1, I use this stuff and it works well. I'd spray it on a cotton bud and swab the affected area a couple of times.

They don't make electronics like they used to.... this is just about 30 years old. I bet your iPhone won't work in 30 years! http://www.youtube.com/user/Simondo13?feature=mhee#p/a/u/0/T7X7V8070Jg
