Saw a 4 corner programme the other night, E cigarettes are the new thing amongst hipsters and nicotine addicts, that is the hype the cigarette companies want you to believe... That big tosser CEO of the cigarette company thinks they are doing a community favour by establishing a new brand of cigarettes... The spin doctors are working overtime...so now the loophole in the law allows people to smoke these things or do the other "now" thing as doing vapours in public...FFS

its potentially going to undo the good work of the last 20-30 years in getting us off the lung busters !!!!!

our kids will be bombarded by advertising !!!!!!! and end up hooked on nico , then possibly going on to the cigs.

have you seen the adverts overseas !!!!!!! horrendous.

Indeed!
I know of more than one who have started straight on the 'e' ciggies, they have some wild idea that it is not going to harm their health...

Did they STOP or SWITCH, I know a fair few that switched going from bad to worst IMO. Now they can have a fag inside as it doesn't smell. What about cost? I guess there is no tax YET!

Fair enuff bigtom but check out some of the ads overseas mate - its like the days of old for cancer sticks advertising - look out here it comes. No doubt it will hook many new kids to the nicotene and make the tobacco boys sqillions in the process.

PERSONAL RESEARCH IN A SCIENTIFIC SCENARIO HAS LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT IF YOU MIX E -CIGARRETTTES WITH ALCOHOL THE OVERALL NEGATIVE EEFECT IS CANCELLED OUT BY HERBAL INTAKE OF ORGANIC SUBSTANCES PROVIDED VIA MOTHER EARTH :)

I quit with the help of ecigs (and I smoked alooooot) and other aids but they definitely help you get out of the habit side of the addiction. The chance of anyone going from ecig to tobacco is low as tobacco taste like ****.
The biggest issue the government will have is they'll make minimal tax out of it, you can easily make the juice from easily accessible bits and pieces from any chemist. It's kind of like the bitcoin of substances

Is nicotine bad for you, Wikipedia say yes.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotine_poisoning

I had to google for a bit of backup, but remember being shown in school (30plus years ago), a demo of near instant death in a rabbit due to nicotine posoining. the demo was by the guy who invented the original nicotine patches Aledgedly he nearly killed himself while working on trials.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicotine_patch - Frank Etscorn.

I got hooked on em, bought em for my wife to help her off the real ones - she hated them so I ended up sucking on them like crazy - as an ex-smoker seemed great - then they ran out! was bombarded by emails to buy more (from US), and I thinks to myself - i'm addicted again - fark after 10+ years off the sh!t Nico is addictive in any form and should be avoided. be warned!

friends - similar numbers/ratio

best bit is they [and us] don't stink of 'baccy anymore, only stuff like apple, cinnamon and other agreeable mild perfumy stuff.

I think your one of the target audiences that the tobacco companies want to enlist again... by any means possible, I used to occasionally smoke 20+ years ago, never interested in taking up the E option just prefer to be free from all that shiz, not only smelling like an ashtray and the costs of the habit but also the adverse health affects are enough to say no thanks....

There is also the horrible images of those addicted ones that have chewed tobacco over time with all cancers associated.

If by chance I get cancer I want to get it naturally... well no its not natural but given the rise in people getting it and even insurance companies asking whether there is a history of it in the family, and there is for me.. I prefer in minimizing the risk so to speak.

They are giving many people back their health, I have read accounts of people hooked on 4 packs a day which obviously completely ruins their fitness and health, they got into e-cigs and were able to stop smoking completely which radically changes their lives for the good.

Saw a current affair type story once about these new smokes exploding in faces of people. Seriously its easier to never start or just go cold turkey on ciggies. I quit a 40 a day habbit cold turkey and its been 11 years. It can be done. All these smoking devices and patches just delay the whole thing.

Lithium Ion batteries do this every now and then, be it laptops, planes, or ecigs. Good ecigs have a battery explosion vent path that allows pressure to dissipate and vents away from face.
