I have been a member on Seabreeze since 2006 and recently when trying to read the heavy weather forum I get a
"Sorry - due to it's nature, this forum is only available to long term members".....

Anyone else get this?..or is it just me and 9+ years isn't considered "long term"...?

You should be happy. Normal functional and helpful members of society can't get the special priveledges needed to access "Heavy Weather"

imho it's somewhat disappointing to slowly see a fabulous and light hearted watersports forum get hi-jacked (911 pun not intended) by a minority that want to sprout what amounts to nothing more than some very left field sh1t that has absolutely nothing to do with our sports. And yes I know I'm not forced to read any of it but feel the dynamic of seabreeze has changed for the worse.

Once a topics been relegated to HW, it has little to with windsurfing, surfing or sailing,
Therefore, no interest

But...... It's kinda what the heavy weather section is for....
I just don't read it any more.
It's really just become a soap box for some very opinionated people essentially shouting others down.

100% on the head.

In the many forums I am in, heavy weather in seabreeze is appalling. Alot of forums have funny, general, laugh out loud, just for laughs, wtf, political, deep in thought and a few others, in none of these forums are they dictated by 5 to 10 members or have the gesture of multiple login's.

Nor do any other forums I have been a member in have a green/red flag system only a recommended or favorites system in place. I love seabreeze to death and spend/have spent to many hours reading the good - great and bad that has flowed for many years.

People will say if you don't like it leave, that's not always the case we and forum moderators need to steer the site in a positive forward direction.

I never would have thought an existing member would not be able to read heavy due to the above, try following up with a post to Laurie ( the boss ) he has always helped me over several discrepancies ( good and bad ).

LOL Razz - feel normal in heavy - you need to find new friends, can be interesting, even worth replying but it's a shambles.

I understand the heavy weather section. Just sick of every thread being hijacked (probs the fbi) and directed to the same few topics...

The only sensible thing to do is move this thread to heavy weather. Come on, I know you were thinking it!

I find it amusing that a question is asked and persons respond in the same way that they classify as bad form in other forum sections...

Heavy Weather is called such for a reason, if you don't like it...don't open it..your choice. I never post in it but I occasionally have a read for the fun of it...and use it as a barometer of social attitude.

Well just to keep you up to date: we're currently talking about 911 and how bad Tony Abbott is , so things have really moved on.

Just another example of the ruling elite eroding our freedoms.

If only you opened your minds to free thinking, ignored the indoctrination peddled on the Seabreeze mainstream forums and instead believed only the things I tell you are true then you would be as smart as me.

Access to the most holy of forums is granted only to those on the top 1/3 of the Seabreeze illuminati triangle.

In case you are a brainwashed ignoramus and not aware of what is really happening out there here is the Triangle of Power :

Nice picture - an email might have been easier!

As usual, never let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy: It was a bug in an upgrade on Saturday, which we'll fix today.

Yes, we are limiting access to heavy weather - existing Heavy Weather forums users, and people with plenty of post/been a member for a while still have full access, but users fresh to the site, not so.

Why?

Seabreeze is a watersports site. The forums were setup for people to have a good time. Heavy Weather is sooo far away from what our intent is. Some pretty shocking topics go down in there ... there are entire sites devoted to that kind of stuff, and sorry - seabreeze.com.au, being about good times on the water, is not about that.

In Summary:
If you've posted in it before, nothing changes
If you've been a long term member, nothing changes
If you've got a lot of posts, nothing changes

ONLY if you're new to the site, you won't have access.

Hope that helps...

Then they will wait until the few main posters on HW get bored of trying to convince each other to join in on their conspiracy theories or switch political parties and let HW die a slow and painful death...which is what it deserves.

I thing these are very intelligent changes.

What numbers do you have in mind for the above ("long term", and "lots of posts")?

I can understand, if you want to keep these numbers to yourself.

Sorry; a few posts were removed, and to those who's posts were removed, hopefully you'll understand why - it has been an ongoing issue which needs addressing.

Regards the post number/time .. they are the numbers where the minimum number of people are inconvenienced.

(Numbers not public, because times when we've set "X posts needed", there were always people who spammed the forums until they had X posts .. a pain to all involved!)

Excellent work from the admin team!

Perhaps a discrete look at multiple user names from the same place (IP address?) would also help in the tidy up....

I guess we should have seen it coming a milsy off.

As abominable as it seems I am not sure that we can blame one single person for being the architect of this rocky road, dudes. It was always on the skid.

Thinkabowtit, ousting Tony Abbot, PM, 33 times in row is unlikely assist in the world of gesaltism.

If you crank up any Japanese (jap), Irish (ie) or Australians (AUS) to 1111 RPM it is likely to lead to evl. Pandas could tell you that. For sure, it will NotWal end.

Maybe I should just move on and change myusernam ?

Anyway I think it might be time for me to fly, surfers forum is calling and I think I sea breeze starting in the tree tops.

So crakas one open and have a beer or even a Bristol crème sherry if that's your fancy. And maybe even chuck a sausage on the barbie, shoodbegood.

If that isn't too your fancy then just go read a book. I heard harry potter is OK.
