Who gives a crap, let em stay! There probably cleaner than most other things that get let in, and at least they won't be lining up at centrelink.
I couldn't believe it when I turned on the box this arvo, a jurno outside jonnys place talking about these stupid dogs! Breaking news they reckon!
Surely there's something better to talk about???

I thought this topic would come up.

I reckon leave the mutts alone,

By the time the legal fiasco finished, the pooches would be long dead, at an enormous expense to the taxpayer. It's the way the system works.

The dogs probably live a better lifestyle than the average Aussie family, and probably have a health insurance policy worth more than most peoples super.

Waste of money to persue I reckon.

A laws a law regardless of who's breaking it.

As for his GF, sure its not his daughter? Very similar looking faces.

Reminds me of a guy I met who was getting married. I hadn't met his soon to be. Anyways I'm at his home, she comes into the room and they're standing together in front of a pic of him with his mum. Well FCK me! She was a 20yr younger dead ringer. It was just too creepy. I wasn't sure whether to laugh or leave.

We have quarantine for a reason. No ifs, no buts.

Bloody disgraceful, highlights how pathetic our system is if he can just march them off his plane and into a car. Quarantine laws must be a no leniency no exception article. Im not surprised but disgusted nonetheless in our mainstream media trying to get sympathy for this super rich movie actor.

It is our strict quarantine laws that have kept many diseases out of Australia. He's no different to anyone else in this regard.
If you let one guys dogs is, the laws are pointless and why not let everyone's.

Sometimes I reckons the laws going to be enforced more if its 'in the publics interest' ie gossip and news worthy.
As for boarder protection, I brought some dodgy joint medicine (not joynte) home from indo, it was a ancient root oil apparently. I declared it at customs and the dude didn't even look at it or check my bags, he just goes 'as long as you haven't opened it that's fine'
It's got tree roots, bugs, and god know what else in it, it seems to work ok but!

Were was customs / immigrations at the airport?.... what a person can fly into Australia on a private plane and just walk in.....mmmmm
Boat people just need to be a bit more cashed up, hire a private jet and walk straight in.

And to those that think it isnt a problem, maybe consider that if they are prepared to ignore Australian customs and quarantine requirements, what other countries have these animals been in and out of in the owners personal jet? These two dogs have been around the gold coast, into dog grooming salons and who knows what else, there is definitely a serious quarantine violation here with all the risks that entails.

Yes,, but he was voted the sexiest man in the whole world! TWICE would you believe.
Surely that must count for something..

I saw the tv clip of him stepping off the plane, and I found it hard to see the difference between what I saw and a homeless person climbing out of his bush tent in the morning.
Yeah,, I know,.. he's so rich he doesn't need to brush up any more. Just come as you are.
Well I've been doing that for years and it doesn't seem to win me any favors.

I wondered why that straggly 'unwashed unbrushed hair look' makes him eligible for the 'sexiest man in the world' title when the same look on a homeless person makes them elliglble for more centrelink benefits.
I came to the conclusion it could only be because homeless people don't arrive in their own personal jet airplanes.

Here's a good idea.
Lets put a whole lot of societies rejects and their straggly squeezes on their own personal jets and fly them off to america.

Oh,.. and before I start WW3 with Oz and the good old US of A as the instigators of it all,, I better add,.. ,.. oops,,.. I mean
I just heard on the news they are looking at sending some B1 bombers our way right now.

After all, he is their 'sexiest man in the world ' representative and I'm sure that's a title they take very seriously.

Get the dogs vet checked and passed by customs , Then give Jonny a huge (max) fine for breaching our border / customs proceedures .
And then make him make a Donation to the RSPCA.

Then i think the dogs should be able to stay .

not much point in de-porting them at this late stage .

It's Barnaby Joyce who really should hold his head in shame. I for one, and I hate this prick, but Kyle Sandilands was spot on and gave it him as he should.

Seriously - insinuating that the dogs will be put down or else!? Get a life Barnaby ya fat bogan!

Perhaps he thought the Quarantine and Custom Department Rules were more of a guideline than a code ?

The dogs are going home. This was a stunt cooked up by the government and Depp to bring publicity to Depp and his movie plus the quaranteen laws of Australia. It also made Barnaby Joyce look like a hero.

Don't forget there was a certain amount of history here. Some weeks ago there was a report re the import of the star monkey for the Pirates movie. JD knew exactly what our quarantine laws were he just thought he was above it. Great actor but arrogant and rude towards Australias laws. Good on Barnaby Joyce for doing what we pay him his high 6 figure salary for. Big fine and send the pooches home!!

They're not ALL bad. Usually the ones who've worked hard to get where they are seem alright/grounded.

You can fly in on a commercial flight and walk straight in. That arrival card is mostly an honour system, they can't physically check everyone. It's just an honour system with potential for a big penalty if caught lying...

After the the honour system they assess passengers and pick off those that fit certain profiles for bringing undeclared and contraband items in. I bet Johhny didn't fit a high risk profile.
