I read that the North Rebel is the best selling kite but where I ride a lot of kiters use switchblades.

I was wondering what the best 3 kites to own are and why.

Aren't we all?

You obviously have a Cabrinha retailer nearby, the best kite at any beach is the one the local retailer/kite school sells.

The best selling kite is not necessarily the best kite and everyones tastes are different, demo.

I think what you mean is what are the best selling kites. That's a different question than "what is the best kite for me?" The North Rebel is the first followed closely by the Cabrinha Switchblade and then I think 3rd place changes a little bit. My guess would be it changes between the Slingshot RPM, Best TS, and Naish Park. If you want to know what to buy then tell us about yourself and you'll get a more specific answer to you. Just because something is the best selling doesn't mean it's the kite that's going to suit you best.

More wondering what other kiters have in their quiver and why. Some people have strong opinions others say there isnt much difference.

Best kites are the ones you either just bought or are trying to sell

@Hardhat 2010 was ages ago mate. He's looking for recent advice. Hit all the local shops and demo as many as you can. Everyone is going to pimp the kite they ride so their advice isn't really going to be the best. It all depends on the style of riding that you are going to do.
