BOOST WA 92 Posts	Posted 12/09/2010, 7:48 am Hello all you experienced and knowledgeable East coast kitesurfers. I am taking a few months travelling along the coast with my girlfriend and I'd like to know any recommendations for some good safe locations to head for. We are travelling all the way from Melbourne to Cairns, so plenty of scope!! Ideal spots are suitable for beginners with flat water and no nasty rocks, rip tides etc. Oh and of course a good place for coffee Any recommendations gratefully received - Many Thanks

Bigwavedave NSW 2002 Posts	Posted 12/09/2010, 3:40 pm It's way more fun to look at weather sites, google earth and accomodation guides with your gf and plan your trip. If you just drive and look for places your holiday will be highlighted by nice little surprises.

Thanks Queensland has stingers in some areas over summer so you want to avoid northern queensland from about Nov to April. If I was you, I'd start in Cairns and go to Melbourne, Cairns will be better in September and by the time you get to Melbourne it would have warmed up with sea breezes.
