Hi All. I am heading to Fiji for a holiday in late Aug early Sep and was looking for some options. A place I can stay and kite would be good, but not too spendy. Read a few posts here but can't seem to work out the best spots. Found this place which is on the far north of the Island and it has a picture of a kite surfer in its gallery, so it must be good.. right? ! - http://volivoli.com/gallery.html Thanks Al

i went to fiji las year in august. i stayed at a backpackers called "the beach house" i think 10 nights cost me roughly $220 aus. the place is right on the beach and you can pretty much walk out of your room onto the beach set up and kite (if there is a SE wind) when i was there i only got 2 windy days and had to travel for it. its always a gamble travelling to kite but if you wing it and get good breeze its awesome. they have their own restaurant there and the food is pretty good as well. plus if their is no wind their is plenty of other things to do... like drink, fish, drink, tune hot backpackers, drink, and maybe go venture around the island for other places to drink. hope this helps oh and the backpackers is on the coral coast roughly in the middle

^^^^^^^ I concur with Mitch re beachouse .there are old threads there re past trips there in the last 2 years in the hook up section. Also not sure why Mitch was red thumbed re beginners .When the SE wind blows it can be quite side shore which is great when you are out on the edge of the reef riding waves but it can be quite sketchy inside the lagoon which also has coral and if there isn't much water over the reef it can be norsty so if you are noo then beware .
