Has anyone who has been up with Ant this season got a report on how the wind has been? It's been a bit funny up north this year, just interested if Ant's camp has been getting his usual sun up to sun down consistent winds. A friend and I are going up in 2 weeks and were just curious how it has been this year.

When I went last year there wasn't a single windless day. It was great.

Hi Chino, I was up at Ant's kitesurfari last month for the 8 day camp and as usual had wind every day ( +32kns on a couple of days but usually 20-25kn) with the sun up/down sessions happening. The wind was consistent even though readings at Cairns were much lighter - Ant's location seems to get so much more wind both in strength and duration.
This was my 4 th kitesurfari and the experience just keeps getting better. We had time to go around to the ocean side of Cape Bedford to kite some wind waves and explore the area by 4wd. The accommodation and layout of the camp is great with some additional comforts to help recover after averaging 5/6 hrs of kiting a day. And as usual you get well looked after by Ant and Pauli in a location which is so unique - I get a buzz just out of taking in the remoteness of the location, and meeting other kiters.
Also the kitesurfari Facebook photos confirm the great kiting up there this season - have a great time.

What Geoff said (hi Geoff)
I was on Geoffs trip and kited on a 6m for 3 days straight.
I remember one mornIng when you couldnt have kited ( without light wind gear).
Other than that you could have kited morning noon and night, it's awesome!!

Hi Chino! We just got back earlier this week from an 8 day trip. The wind has been pumping everyday for months except for a slight dip in the wind last weekend but this was predicted in the forecast. We were probably the unluckiest crew this year as we had one day with no wind and one light wind day. The rest of the week had good wind like the rest of the season. Don't stress too much about the wind, the season has been good.

This was my 1st Kite Surfari and it was great. Ant’s cooking is delicious. We should get him on Master Chef - Outback Edition. Ant & Pauli really do a good job looking after us and I would recommend the trip to anyone who hasn’t been yet. It’s great value.

Here's some photos from the trip.

I'm heading up in a couple of weeks - is there any need for a wetsuit or is boardies and rash shirt enough?

You'll cook in a wetsuit.

I took my 2mm spring suit along. I needed it .... 6+ hours of kiting per day will leave you cold at the end of the day.

It was 25 to 35 knots (100kg of me on either a 7m or 10m kite)

+1 for a shortie. Wind strength can make it a little colder than it is.

Also recommend Zinc. You're in the sun all day every day so you need something that sticks to you.

Just got back last month from a 4 day session. Wind 24/7, great food, and great accommodation. Check out my vid below.

That's exactly what it's like, from what I've heard. Thanks for sharing the video.

I plan to go there next season also with a land board and all my kites.

Just one question: What beer do they have on offer and at what price?
