when you check the wind and seabreeze regularly even though you've never even been on the water yet... Bring on those lessons

.... when you say to your girlfriend of 7 years, "one reason for not getting married is because a rings costs a lot of money." She then says "you can't get a new board till you buy me a ring!"........
Monday - $4k on a diamond ring
Tuesday - $1k on a North WAM

you burn your guts bad. harness rubs the skin off. the next two days it's +25 knots and you go kitesurfing anyway, reasoning "the salt water will be good for the wound... I'll then have a few weeks off to let it heal."

3 or 4 days later you're at a new beach, there's an awesome flat water rivermouth with dark evil tannin stained murky water, the worst possible place you could go if you're trying to keep the wound clean... you go kitesurfing the next two days anyway, reasoning "hell, chicks dig scars".

Difficult when any thing new is needed. New topic, new email, new mobile phone, new chux, new washing machine, new mother inlaw, new double pluggers!

I want to go kiting

You here about Textaphrenia (Constantly checking your mobile to see if a message has arrived) and wonder if there's a name for constantly checking the beach to see if there's wind...

I found that I am addicted when I was not checking stock market changes with few hundred thousand investments instead of checking wind directions and power :D

I'm a learner, but I know I'm addicted because I got tea bagged onto the beach twice Saturday at Kirra QLD, I can hardly walk and it feels like my hip is broken. I can't wait to try again.
