I took the GoPro out again today. I changed the angle of the camera to try and get the top turn in. It kind of worked, the only downside is you see more of the pole. This is the turn I thought Id broke my ankle on. I came down and got all compressed and rolled over my ankle. I had to crawl up the beach and over the dune and wait for my mate to finish the down winder so he could come get me.

I bet someone already said this, but if you weren't wearing the hooks you probably wouldn't have nearly broke your ankle. Cool angle shots though.

Nah - waves are too small.. just too many pies n beers. Shot 2 - checkin your own slash out.. he he - we all do it. Think the angle may need a slight tweak Corey? Is the hand/pole in shot attracting the auto focus a bit?

Rowdy, I dont think my foot hooks would have made a difference. I know a couple strapless guys have done the same. Its just the way I landed. Funky - Im pretty sure GoPros dont have any focus, its just set and thats all you get. I found if I angle it to get the pole out it works good with a bottom turn, but you cut the board off on a top turn. It is a bit tricky trying to hold the camera in the right spot and hit a section at the same time. Markass - Yes it is a lonely stretch of beach. Especially early in the day before the down wind crew get on it. Lucky for me there was one guy swimming right where I did it so he helped carry my gear over the dunes to the carpark. Other lucky thing was I did it in front of the only short path through the dunes, saved me some swear words.
