I'm with you puertz love the pimps. Reckon people who whine about them must have weak sales resistance. Probably why they avoid gay bars. Lol.

hey Robbie get in touch with Mike Birt and I think it is s29feb I think on Kiteforum. Both these guys have a wealth of knowledge, especially Mike and he has led me the the right choices this year.

... no worries! I remember you mentioned about Mike in Bali and his knowledge so I asked the same question on kiteforum and Mike has replied, but has only tired the small Cypher. I'm hoping there is more info out there. cheers, Robbie

... your right Ian, I want too! Came back from Bali and have been riding surf boards strapless and loving it. I so didn't want to be one of the 'me too' crowd but bugger it, its fun! I even pulled out my old 6' Cyclone SB and it actually rides better with no straps so its been a bit of a eye opener and learning curve. I'm hunting for a nice board and the Cypher looks the biz for my fat arse, just not sure what size board I should be getting!! cheers for now, Robbie

Hi Puetz, I have ridden the Cypher, I think it was the 5'4 though. I surfed on it too, although it was a bit too short. Felt like a pop stick on decent waves, but it worked pretty good on small days like waist to chest high. Im sure its kiting you care about. Its pretty flat and wide so gets going really early. It has a real skatey feel so would work best in ave onshore chop type of waves. I don't think it would be fantastic in down the line waves, but I didn't ride it in waves like to know for sure. If you want a board that is easy to tail slide and whip around while not super powered, I think it would work great. Hope that helps.

... cheers Coreyb! Does it feel bouncy in chop and could you ride it fast? I sort of like doing the largish carves with the big spray sort of thing but with the Cyphers width, do you think the board would do it or not really its cup of tea? cheers, Robbie

Con a ride on Tony's green chop top, I'm pretty sure you will get an ideal of how the Cypher might handle compared to a surfboard. No doubt the Cypher will get you going quicker than a surfboard (less rocker) I've had 2 chop tops and didn't have any hassle in chop / cross on. Pretty sure the Cypher will have similar DNA. Down the line is another story though, surfboards rule. Great to hear your having fun on SB. I guess there will be a few TT's in the for sale section soon.
