Hey guys, do you have something like the spot guide set up for kiting spots in the south.

I was thinking Mortimer's off the end of rifle range looked like a good spot, but here are a lot of trees.

I've completed my IKO and I'm got a light wind kite, now I'm looking for somewhere to progress.
Cremorne lagoon is ok, but gets tight with the new trimaran in the way and low tide.

Any suggestions?

hi fos
welcome to the dark side!
mortimer is ok just launch and retrieve well away from the trees
i spent most of my learning at schoolies
same applies there do a drift launch well away from the road and power lines
and drop your kite well away when landing
its very shallow well away from the shore so when **** hits the fan you can dump your kite in the drink and walk back to the car
which i did many times
check the tides
i found i needed about a metre of tide to save a long walk to the waters edge
hope this helps

Hi FoS,
I kite out at Mortimers a bit, it's a reasonable place to learn, flat, shallow water and can be reasonably consistent in the right breeze.
7 mile can also be good.
let me know if you want to get together for a session sometime.
Tim
