I'm new to this fourm and land yachting and I have been wondering the whole time (and this is probably an amature question) - can a good yacht be made from wood?

I have no experience with working with metal nor the right equipment - but working with wood is managable

any thoughts or ideas appreciated

I have some thoughts myself, but nothing tested or proven. I'm wondering if something can't be done that folds up for transport

Of course you can build a wooden landyacht, just think about stresses when you do

A lot of Ice yachts are wooden, sometimes they also take lots of photos while building...

If you are thinking of a wooden yacht consider holding the mast up with stay wires like they do on the ice yachts. This will take the load and stresses of the rig.
Most land yachts of small to medium in size use an unstated mast where as bigger yachts will use cables to hold the rig up.
