Not only do they have the Minion and a whole range of custom designs, but with the inclusion of Jackson Close onto their team, they now have the Jackson Close Signature model.
Best board I have ridden by a mile!
IMO i reckon JC surfs the JP 8.0 surf much nicer...he's still smashing it but i just like watching him on the JP...
What sort of money are they asking for the 8' and the 8'2" x 29.75?
Your looking at $1,650.00 for the lightweight carbon/innegra construction, and $1900.00 if you want the added strength of the Vacuum bagged deck.
Pretty reasonable. Damn... another for my wish list....

+1, Had a tour of the premises and manufacturing process last year and needless to say was very impressed.
Nice vid Chris.
I've just picked up my new 8'2" x 28 3/4", very nice finish on the board. (Couldn't work out how to rotate photo)
These boards are quite popular in Sth Oz, I've seen a few around the traps..........perfect board for when we travel away from Adelaide.
Very thankful that we don't experience the crowd that was out at Snapper in that vid, it must be pretty frustrating for the guys who live on the Gold Coast.

Great looking board!!
C'mon Lotus Blossum..... lets see it or I'll have to chuck a photo up
Had the pleasure of trying one today albeit in tiny <1ft waves but was still able to throw it around nicely. Being 112L and me tipping the scales at 100kg, I was amazed at how stable it was. Only came off once in 30mins.
Once again with the DEEP boards, amazing finish and shape to them.
I can't wait for two people I know to move onto their next DEEP board so I can snap up one of their JC models Dr.....12 months????
Sorry guys a typo on the size, it's 29 3/4" wide.
JasonR, yes I did the grip myself....cheers.
i haven't christened this board yet but I ordered one after the first wave on a demo. Was a wave with moderate push, on the backhand. The drive off the bottom was awesome and I found myself hitting the lip harder than expected. Then and there knew had to have one
I have to post this because I know what photo Danny Lee will use if I dont!!
I've had this out in some small weak surf (that time of year in Adelaide) and very very pleasantly surprised with how it went. Looking forward to some juice.
Hey guys these boards look awesome. Would love to know what full dimensions and volumes you running for your weight and ability?
I've just ordered a minnion however would love to get one of these jc models as well for when the surf gets real good.
Does anyone have a minnion and a Jackson close model? And if so how does each one compare. I know there would be difference due to two completely different shapes but it would be interesting to get thoughts/opinions on this.
Cheers in advance
I now run a JC and a minion. I think they are a great combination. For me the JC is a stretch at 8'2" x 29 3/4" x 112L and minion 7'10 x 29" 119L. Makes the minion pretty cruisy really. I am 6'2" and 95 kegs.
They are very different boards with the JC intended for bigger (meeting the Colas theory of keeping the boards different). I am running the JC with thruster and minion with quads and nubster. Have only had a JC out twice tho.
The JC was a bit of a surprise buy and I hd to sell another board I was very happy with to get it. One surf in fun overhead waves blew me away.
Thanks for the feedback lotus blossom. Would like to hear more about the jc when you get a few more surfs under your belt they just look like the nicest shape board.
The custom design of the deck pads on both those boards is some of the best I have seen. I reckon a Minion and JC quiver would be awesome. I have the 7'4 Minion @104L and in the market for a bigger wave board around 120L for choppy sessions and grunty waves. Has anyone got any feedback on the larger JC boards?
Hey murf nice board what the thickness of the board and what's your weight if u don't mind me asking.
Do you have much difference in the volume between ur minnion and your jc model?
Cheers

Hi Dan
The volume of the JC and minion is the same, they are both 95L and I think the thickness is around 4 inches.
Im 78kgs and it floats me fine.

adelaide seems to be the deep south
My wife rides one if the early JC models at 8'2" x 27 x 96L. For her it is a one board quiver and she takes it out in the big, small, calm and rough. I am probably not allowed to mention weights, but this is about the equivalent of me being on a JC of 120-130L or about 10-15L bigger.
PS she doesn't have a minion. She might be the only adelaide JC owner that doesn't
Just got this new 8'2 x 28 done up for some tubes. It comes in at around 100 litres and I weight about 82kg so should be plenty of stability for cross chop/ backwash / and extended sessions at remote reef break. Primarily for tubes so single concave, sharp rails and plenty of rocker-can't wait to get into a few!!!
Also just rode one of JC old 8'0 x 27 1/4 at 92litres which is about as small as I'd ride but prob best performance SUP I've ever ridden. Noticeable higher performance ??
I think the Deep shapes and construction are up there with the best in the world!
Very nice board stuppa. Bet it will go good in some solid waves. Can't it only be set up as a thruster of does it have a 5 fin set up??
Cheers

Dan, I don't know about Stuppa's, but mine has the 5 boxes and I ordered the 5 fin set. Will surf as a 4 fin to start with
Oh cheers for that. Its good to hear u can get it in a 5 fin box as I have only seem them in a thruster
I was luck enough to ride a JC again on Saturday in clean 2ft conditions at Goolwa/Middleton (fat wave) and was very surprised at the powerful turns these can produce in tight sections.
I was hitting closeout sections with more speed and tighter turns which enabled me to come out of everyone of them with more speed and stability.
I know how the minions perform in similar conditions and can say these are better suited to more critical sections for sure.
Stability under paddle and waiting around for sets was fno issue but I've only paddled in relatively clean conditions at this stage. Probabaly get it out on the Mid in 15knot winds tonight for a bit of fun.
Great board and if it wasn't for the fact I am waiting on my Minion to be delivered I would happily order one.
very interesting gents, but I'm struggling to know what's what and whether these things are really good and particularly stable. One chap I know who surfs exceptionally well is on one and it looks like a right b&stard of a tippy thing. So let's see a vid or three and your dimensions, I'm starting to wonder if everyone on one is 5'6" and 60kg!!
These are not beginners board Tang.
If you have worked your way down from 10 to 9 and looking for an 8Fter to advance on.....look no further.
I'd suggest you already be comfortable on board your own weight plus 15-25ish Lt. If you can handle that then your are in the ball game.
Obviously a 5'6 and 60 kg person is going to find an 8'2" and 112 lt board pretty stable but they should be looking at sub 8ft and a 85ish Lt board to progress on by comparison I'd suggest.
It's nice to have a fully customised option to suit your weight and ability without compromising quality for a pop out and get a progressive surfing shaped board.
Tang,
I'm definitely not 5'6" and 60kg.
I've gone for a 9'2" x 31. Very Similar to the size I was going to progress to with a pop out brand, but they've left me hanging for months now waiting for a response on a warranty claim (the straw that broke the camel's back).
With that shape I know it's gonna be very close to my limits given the "standard" conditions at my local. Wind, wind and more wind.
I'd like to see some vids too, not just to prove that these boards work, but to see people enjoying them.
I will certainly post some footage when it arrives, on a wave as well!
I got this custom deep 7'1 x 24' x 3 3/4 at around Christmas time and the performance was incredible. Also its really easy to balance on it considering it's only 7'1. I got the none vacuumed bagged material which is a little weaker than the vacuumed bagged but have found that the board only has 2 minor compressions where my feet stand. Overall the best board ive ridden so far while I've been paddle boarding.
