Oh to be a young light weight again. Sweet Looking board Kenta, you certainly seem to have it under control.

I tried the one I am currently borrowing as a quad setup tonight in waist high waves with a 10-15knot cross off shore. More of a test of stability and to try quads and passed with flying colours. I do prefer the bottom turns I was getting as a thruster setup but I didn't drive the cut backs as hard as normal and it was flying back to the pocket.

Really nice board kenta. Gee those dimensions are really small. How many litres is the board and what's ur weight if u don't mind me asking?

Also to everyone else that has a jc model. Does anyone have a few photos of the side profile of the board. Would love to see the rocker profiles and how the foam is distributed throughout the board.

Cheers

First surf on my 8'2" x 29 3/4" today in up to head high, clean, peaky waves.

Had the quads in and was rapt in how it went.
It was a little twitchier underfoot than my 7'8" minion, I guess about 90% stability in comparison.
Plenty of drive off the bottom and a natural transition into cutbacks and it carried the speed well through the turns. Very loose...I think easily as loose as the minion but a different feel.

Will try with the thruster set next surf but I certainly like the feel of the quads. Will experiment with a dark drive rear as well.

Yeah let us know how the thruster goes. Would be interesting to know the difference and pros and cons between the 2 styles of fin set ups for this model.

I'd like to own shares in the Cooly Hospital Emergency Department - they must do a roaring trade.

These look really nice, I must admit I'm a little tapped out constantly paying approx. $500 to 1k over what these cost for JP's etc that are not even custom, I'm very much considering getting one of these beauties, my question is just how tough and light are these boards lets say compared to a JP pro seeing I'm comparing prices with one of those.

Ive put on abit of weight since I first got the board hahaha. I weigh 67kg and the board has 67.6 litres. When I just get to my feet it sinks a little but as soon as I start paddling it's fine unless, most of the time...

maxeaus I can't talk from first hand knowledge (at least or another 2 days till mine is delivered) but I have seen and ridden plenty of DEEP customs that are up to 18+ months old and no rail damage at all. None of them with rail tape. They seriously are bullet proof which made my decision easier to purchase having come from pop out land myself.

Has anyone been out more on their jc models and can give more of an update with their boards performance and fin choice?

Cheers

Dan83, it's 9'2" x 31". It's my step down from my JP 9'6" Pro. I'll let you know the litres when i lay eyes on it, around 130-140l. I've gone for a 7'10" minion for the small glassy stuff, and wanted a "gun" for the bigger choppier days. Most of our "decent" size waves are wind swell, hence the 31" wide for stability. Deep can make anything you want and Simon knows his stuff, great to deal with. I've seen their products and know that these boards will take a beating. Cheers to DJansen for his help too. Can't wait to get stoked on these sweet boards.

I can vouch for that, only had my minion for a couple of weeks but managed to hit it harder with my paddle than any other board already a couple of time. I've tried to find where I hit it both on rails and the deck towards the nose but honestly can't see a mark.
Even had someone's carbon board hit it yesterday right on the nose and apart from a scuff and small crack, completely water tight thank Christ.
Sounded bad underwater as well.... Came up thinking I'd have a $200 repair bill on my brand new board but they are tough as nails.

Just popped my Deep JC's cherry in small onshore crap, not worthy of a pic. Thoroughly impressed with the board. Can't wait to get it on a real wave. Stable in crap conditions, easy to get on a wave, super easy to punch through waves paddling back out. Great glide, magic turn. It IS heavier than my JP pro, felt that walking it down to the beach, but i did go the vac bagged option for durability. Once you're on that wave it is a superior board. Stoked.
