I launched the flat water 480 board today that I've been building over the last month or so. Still not varnished yet but it was such a nice day I couldn't resist getting her out. It's also my first SUP so I found it a bit tippy but as I didn't fall in, it can't be that bad. I like building things with timber and loved the Kaholo boards from CLC but thought I could take it a step further by introducing tortured ply construction to make it stiffer and lighter and also get a rounded displacement hull. Hope you like it (don't be too cruel).

Hi all, thanks for the comments. I took a bunch of pictures during construction so I'll start another thread about building the board and give some more details then, probably over the weekend.

Great job and looks like it pierces nicely. Please do post pics as I'm hoping to start my own timber-sup soon, once I get my 'other' projects done. I'm going to have a crack at building a 14' DWer with attachments for river fishing using plywood & cedar (I hope, as I have a stack of WR cedar leftover from my joinery days).

What more can you say. Its amazing what a man can do with his hands. It would be an amazing thing to see gliding through the water and not saying you are a bad paddler but imagine some one on like jamie mitchell really pushing it through the water. Would you ever consider bringing down to a demo centre at narrabeen on a wknd and showing it off... Nice. Nice indeed.
