A 9'2 Hull Ripper also landed in Holland ;o)
and I had the opportunity to quickly do some runs. No extensive review yet but to me (90 kg) the 9'2 Hull Ripper Wide (9'2 x 30 3/4) is about as stable as the PSH 9'2 Wide Ripper. Tested in not to choppy conditions. Maybe even a little bit more stable.

Volume is about the same maybe a little bit higher as the 9'2 Ripper.

More testing will be done but boy this is an interesting shape. Very responsive and silky smooth rail to rail transitions.

(For the record: I'm agent in Holland, Belgium and Luxemburg for Paddle Surf Hawaii, Kialoa and Hobie SUP.)

9'2' sounnds good, am after a board with more drive and a looser feel than the 9'1 jl kwad, with better glide and similar stability ,if thats possible ,hilly i think you chasing the same, quad or thruster option will be a bonus... bring it on

I am in the same boat so to speak. I currently ride a 9ft Angulo which is great but want something more like a short board feel. I haven't any of the PSH boards but all reviews seem to be quite positive. I am trying to compare the 9ft Angulo to the 9'2' PSH wide Ripper. Any ideas.................

Red is definitely faster. Please report on the 9'6"s performance/stability for a 185 cm 95 kg to 100 kg comparitively advanced surfer. The 8'10" Allwave and 8'10" Widepoint are my other options at the moment, so a comparison against them, if possible would be really useful.

I will be able to try a widepoint and hull ripper back to back. They will be chalk and cheese though. WP has massive volume, lots of rocker, thick rails and is almost 2 inches wider. Without testing any I would say in solid surf the hull ripper will out perform both those boards but will be less stable. In small surf the other two will have an advantage due to volume.

Depends what surfing you do.

Will find out soon.

g'day AA,

Do you have any to demo? I'm interested in the 9'2 hull wide ripper....coming down from the awesome psh 10'6 WAA (a great board) that I learnt on. The new PSH models look fantastic, I'm sure they surf well too. Cheers.

Hey Tagan, stoked to hear you are progressing on that board!

Balmoral Paddle Surf has 3 demo Hull Rippers-

9'2” x 30 3/4” x 4 1/4” 9-2 Hull Ripper

9'6” x 30 1/2” x 4 3/8” 9-6 Hull Ripper

9'11” x 31” x 4 1/4” 9-11 Hull Ripper

Most dealers around Australia have picked up one or two boards to demo and they should have them for this weekend.

Team riders are currently testing the-

8'9” x 30 1/8” x 4 1/4” 8-9 Hull Ripper
9'1” x 28 7/8” x 4 1/4” 9-1 Hull Ripper Pro
9'6” x 28 7/8” x 4 1/4” 9-6 Hull Ripper Pro

Yes - surprise, surprise, the 8'9 came in at 4 1'4! 5 1/4" was a typo!

SHQ - Vic 9'11” x 31” x 4 1/4” 9-11 Hull Ripper

Strapper - Vic
9'6” x 30 1/2” x 4 3/8” 9-6 Hull Ripper
9'11” x 31” x 4 1/4” 9-11 Hull Ripper

West Oz Board Sports
9'6” x 30 1/2” x 4 3/8” 9-6 Hull Ripper

AA, I'm planning on being in the remake of "Point Break"(20 ft plus) LOL. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll have to demo them all. Stabilty is the key issue for my buggered back. The 10'2" PSH Hull paddler is almost too stable yet extremely manoueverable. I'm not fussed really but boy is it fun talking about it and then trying!!!

So it's 9'1" pro for radman and the 9'6" for hilly hey........jealous.
I'm keen for some feedback from both of you but was thinking somewhere in between i.e. 9'2".
Things could change before then Beno but might be a chance of a river DW on Sunday or even a kite, if all else fails I'm sure it will be good weather for an ale or two.

GM, the smaller boards and Pro's are currently with the team guys.

Piros will have a 9'6 Pro on the Goldy this weekend and Ocean Addicts the 9'2 Hull Ripper.

More stock in 4 weeks so we will be able to spread it around a bit more then.

There should be a fair bit of feedback coming though over the next few weeks as just about every board is being ridden somewhere around Australia.

The feedback so far from guys who can ride is that they are no less stable than their flat bottom Ripper equivalent, ie: 9'2 Hull.R similar in stability to 9'2 Wide.R

This will of course depend on your skill level and the conditions you want to go out in.

Guys the very first HR samples to go out in the US and Europe were Bamboo Veneer and look like the current Progressive series.

We are the first to receive the actual production models with the team graphic.
They are Bamboo Veneer construction with painted finish. High gloss red or White.

The weights of these boards are impressive.

They come with a black grip which can be swapped for Snow cammo.

AA, the US distributor website is saying to go 3 inches longer than you normally ride. I've also been told 6 inches longer. What have you heard?

Any inside scoop if they will be making them shorter than 8'9?
