I find it funny that the very angry bad man told (clearly the guy that started this post) to "go and write that up on seabreeze", I over heard him say and bingo here it is!!!!???Do you people have nothing in your lives? Do SB and Mal riders carry on like this after a situation or maybe there are just way to many expert Sup'ers that have to have a say!
Maybe, just maybe it is between the mad man and chicken scratcher!
Let's try to go for a 3rd page people
Alright we made a 3rd page!
Don't let me down people...... Come on........
Let's keep talking about it!!!!
Actions speak louder than words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with Husq2100 – the rider on the wave has to have right of way (…..no matter what length or type of board they are on). Everyone else in the water should stay well out of their way & let them enjoy the wave. It's pretty simple & 99% of collisions will be avoided if this etiquette was followed.
If you gave right of way to the surfers sitting in the lineup or paddling out to the break, every wave would get blocked & serious injuries would occur. No fun for anyone.
The temptation is always to paddle directly to the lineup, which often means through the direct line of those on the wave. I guess it takes a bit of consideration to paddle those extra few metres & out of the way, so others can enjoy their surf. But it has to be so.
Sometimes everyone gets caught inside every now & then (that's surfing....); & in that case do everything in your power to avoid collision. If it still ends badly, be the first to pop up & apologise; explaining you were doing all you could to get out of the way. Otherwise I guess you could expect a few harsh words??
The question is – how do we educate?
The surf over here was really crowded at ******* on the weekend, we had 3 SUPs out and 3 bloody crawlers as well. One of them got in my way once to the bastards
Glad I do not surf the Alley much I think I would be Mr Bad Sup Man as well
Sup riders with no idea always paddle for the shoulder it is the natural reaction, hard habit to break.

3 pages - awesome
I started the post and had nothing at all to do with the incident, matter of fact I was busy paddling back out from 7th ave (funnily enough because I had to straigten out to avoid a couple of sups/SB/LB, then get washed down the beach by the rest of the sets).

7th Ave??? That is honestly the furthest I have ever heard of anyone getting washed down from the Alley...hmmm.

"REALY" This has gone on long enough guys, there is not one of you that can say you havn't ended up in someones way at sometime, but of course it ****s you when it happens to you, but get over it and move on. If these guys seem to be doing it continuosly explain to them nicely what they need to do, instead of going on like a pork chop, it will make your day and theirs a better one.
so to clarify.....poseidon starts the thread making claims and now it comes out he had nothing to do with the situation....good form mate! Now you are back peddling and making excusses for the paddler about maybes and this situation or that situation.......
Just for you AGAIN, as clearly you cant read: The Sup surfer called out to the paddler on more than one occasion, and whilst in the wrong the paddler still paddled for the shoulder and in doing so hit the SUP surfer.
I hope you take your sup back to the shop, sell it and cut off your hands. Because its rubish like this that is GIVING SUP A BAD NAME!
Yes I have posted in this thread alot, Some one should say something, I know alot of you are reading and I know that some of what has been posted isnt what would happen in reality if it were YOU in this situation....
I have admited having a yell and that is honesty....stop sugar coating for those who you think might be watching!

Don't you realise with that comment you have just encouraged another 4 pages.
I sup surfed it that morning but out the front behind the rocks and missed it. I herd a lot of noise down the line. So that was the big deal. I thought it was really relaxed out there that day, great wave and cool people?

You get used to it after a while. Sometimes you even forget what the thread is about. You just tend to waffle on about this and waffle on about that and next thing you ....
Can you repeat the question ?
