Well done to Andy Davies winning the long course race yesterday and being crowned Australian Champion for the long course (25k). Held in less than ideal dw conditions it was good to see those dedicated to the sport show up to support the event. Andy was also voted by his peers to be the winner of the Friday arvo expression session that also featured Riggs & Seppa Napoleon. Today is the short course race (12km) with similar conditions forecasted. Good luck all

Is it really the Australian Title's for Stand up Paddle when its run on the back of an AOCRA event? It just seems like SUP is an after thought in these events.....Would be good to see an Australian Stand Up Paddle title by itself. Anyway, kudos to all who competed as it sounded like a couple of tough races with little or no wind or swell assistance. Short course results for top three places: 1st Travis Grant 2nd Paul Jackson 3rd Andy Davies *Times unsure of. Well done to all!

Yeah pretty hard race today, Travis killed it and I guess proved he is still one of the best paddlers!! He really has all the small things dialed and they make all the difference. When he turned the rock wall at the start he picked a good runner and pulled a nice little lead and that' the way it stayed pretty much. I'm stoked to even be in touch with such a good paddler, so stoked with 2nd!!!! Also don't think it was a nat's for the Sup and If it was it would be the first I have heard of it.

The short course race on Sunday was great fun and was good to see alot more competitors turn up for the 3 divisions that were run. Andy without doubt is the man of the moment and I reckon if he didn't party with the Hawaiians on the Sat night he would of given Trav a run for his money! Sat 25km Results: 1st - Andy Davies - Naish 17 2nd - Simon Dodd - C4V1 3rd - Matt Worley - F16 Sun 10km Results: 12'6 1st - Travis - DC 2nd - Jacko - Naish 3rd - Andy - Fanatic 14'0 1st - Simon Dodd - C4V1 2nd - Will Andio - LahuiKai 14 Orca Open UL 1st - Matt Worley - Naish 17 2nd - Maui Napolean? - F16

Yes we are claiming it as the Nationals! Gotta start somewhere right? The AORCA do a great job and it is a no-brainer for us to run with them when they have all the infrastructure etc in place. The expression session was co-sponsored and endorsed by the newly formed ASI National SUP Association. A group of us have loaded the bullets for this gun but we want you the paddlers to fire them and be involved in the direction of the sport! If you are interested check out http://www.sup-australia.com/ Shame you didn't turn up CMC, had a new all carbon double bend OC paddle for you to try

Now that is interesting...... Double bend all carbon, does it have the same blade or a redesigned one? Just got a new 1 man so planning to do some racing next season after I have spent some time on it. Love to see some pics of that paddle.

As Simon has clarified, Andy won the long course, Simon 2nd & I brought up the rear. Just to clarify the times, Andy's time is correct, it looks like my time & Simon's time is from the OC1 start time which was about 1hr 5mins after we set off. I took 3hrs 16 mins for the course. It would have been nice with a few more guys on SUPs for the long course. That said I'll take the 3rd place especially considering the conditions. It was a very well run event thanks to the Coffs Outrigger club, it would be great to see a few more next year?
