Got these ones from supper cheap autos for $70 and they are fantastic. Couple of mins to put on and carry my 11'6" and 9'6" with ease. Went to Robe (S.Aust) over easter carried both boards and paddles no worries at all.

I borrowed one of either of them both being top brands. Convienent, but the harsh webbing did rub the ducco of a hire car, so make sure they are sitting properly or put a rag underneath any sus spots. Also handy to have a bit of car wax and a similar colour texta for the hire car.

keep the board in boardbag and use normal straps to tie to the roof. No need for racks they just damage the roof of the car.

i have been doing this for 20 yrs and never had a problem. On some cars the roof caves in a little but it will pop back out when the pressure is released. Make sure you put a half twist on each side to avoid noise issues.

Especially shorter sups have not done it with longer than 10 foot. The curve of the deck matches the roof curve where the racks crush in two points on the roof.

I went the Handirack Inflatable & can not fault it. http://www.handiworld.com/handirack/handirack.html Packs down into a small pouch & affords the ability to put more or less air into the rear rack if the car has an aggressively curved roof. Travel with board bag on. Metal Ring loops. Had a 12'6 on & not an issue. If you are tall or have a tall passenger will the inside strap bother you if you are driving for hours ?
