SAN DIEGO, California - Today marks the beginning of determining who will receive one of the most exciting Supconnect Awards of 2012. It is time to nominate individuals for SUP Grom of the Year!

Both young men and young women stand up paddlers who are 18 and under (this includes groms who turn 18 years old in 2012) can be nominated for this award. So that no one is overlooked, the stand up paddle community needs to tell Supconnect who deserves to be joined with a pre-selected group of groms before the final phase begins.

There will be two phases in the process of determining the ultimate Supconnect SUP Grom of the Year.  The first phase, from August 1st to August 31st, is the open nominations during which time the public will nominate and vote for their favorite SUP groms.  The five groms who receive the most votes will automatically move on to the second phase of the Supconnect SUP Grom of the Year awards. Groms who do not end up in the top five may receive an honorary spot in the final phase based on voter support, great SUP performances and SUP involvement.

The second phase will be the final chance for the public to vote for the person they feel is the ultimate SUP Grom of 2012.  The five groms from the first phase will join a group of groms who were pre-selected by Supconnect based on performance, ambassadorship, and involvement in stand up paddle to compete for the Sup Grom of the Year title.  The voting will begin all over again and last from September 1st to September 30th.

So get busy! Start nominating the young men and women who are the most impressive groms in stand up paddle.  All nominations and voting will take place on the Supconnect Facebook Page.  Click here to get started:  Nominate for SUP Grom of the Year

Kai, my apologies for not including you and good luck also.
The main thing is we need to show interest and vote for our talented young Aussies!
