That was a hoot today, gusting 30+ for the second half. A few quick swims but hey, it is a water sport .

Cool.. Next time then.. Your new Dart would have been flying out there today.
Hey Stu.. You had that orange WOW 14 buzzing along nicely today.. and wearing my street clothes today was one sure way to make me try that bit extra to not fall in.. btw.. My vid from today looks great using my new home made GoPro mount.

I've got to say i'm really looking forward to it. As a complete d'wind newbie i dont know how good the Dart is but, she certainly paddles well and is ridiculously stable,so hopefully i won't be teabaging to much. Glad to hear it was a good run. DavidJohn said...

DJ what sort of wetsuit are you wearing for winter downwinders? Wondering if my 2/3 short arm steamer would be enough.
Great video again, really good perspective,
Have you got room for another Downwinder rider to tag along? next time you're going? I should have my new board next few weeks hopefully,

Anyone out on the bay today?? It was rattling the roof early afternoon and whitecap city on Port Phillip. Even some sunshine!

Hey David, the rear facing camera was good - great to see the wash from the board. I see Stu had a little swim at the boat ramp ;)

Plenty of room on the bay Mate, all welcome.
DJ rocks the boardies most of the time but most of us mere mortals wear something heavier. 2mm long john is more than enough for me and I swim a lot more than most.

We had one planed but last minute pulled the pin (when it was only 15-20) and decided to go for one tomorrow instead.. Bugger! Such a shame to miss it...
Tomorrow (Fri) is still looking very good..

I was kiteboarding last night. It was gorgeous. After the big storm went through the sun came out and the wind filled in nicely with good waves. After that lots of surreal clouds and sunshine and massive double rainbows. You guys would have loved it. It may have been a little too westerly for downwind sup distance.
Here's a pic from last night's news
