Back to the core business Had this little number put together for the upcoming Port Mac love fest Basically just a refinement of what I have been riding for the last three years, just tweaked a little. This one shaped by Simon Forward and glassed by local boy Ant Stevens This one is eight foot by twenty nine with a heap of beef left through the middle One of the main differences with this one is fin placement. Normally I go with Fordies specs but this time I went with Ants. Ants grouping is a lot closer to the tail and to be honest I hated it for the first couple of surfs. Had Rowsa drop in another FCS plug behind the back box ang bingo! all good. Had to do this with my last board so I guess its just one of those things that works for me. Ah the joys of custom shooters! Another big differnce is the amount of concave through the bottom on this one. On a wave with punch, this thing flies, though the work load is up in small gutless crap. The artwork is off an album cover by a ska band, The British Beat. Used to be big into them in the late seventies, early eighties and had that design on every short board I owned for about twenty five years. The one below was the last of the line. Anyway, all good, no jokes about old farts trying to relive their glorious youth....please Cheers Sparx

Very nice, Sparxy. Can't wait to see how it goes in some NSW beach break punch. British Beat - you're such a skin head rude boy.

Just been reading through the grumpy old men thread and came over all cheeky like thinking of my elders still measuring their prowess with such determination. Then I've clicked on your thread and here you are a distinguished looking silver fox tearing it up. No disrespect intended. The "Why are you so old"? comes from a kids cartoon my kids like called Despicable me.

Hi Sparx, I noticed with your back fins you have put the plugs in. Has it made the difference you were hoping for? Div

Hey Div Moving the back fins transformed the board, incredible the difference really. As I have said the original fin grouping was too close together, just felt weird. As a personal preferance that revised set up was a cracker on my red board Everything is a bit closer to the tail on the newy And to tell the truth it's very much like a thruster both performance wise and the way it needs to be surfed Cheers Sparx
