Tail drop floater on a 5 foot bells section...to this day I'm still trying to work out :

1. Why I was riding my longboard that day
2. How the **** I made it
3. How did the board survive
4. How did I not kill anyone including myself

in1974 my very first re-entry at mona vale , I've had lots better, but i don't remember them.
i still remember that first move, that was a long time ago.

another one of my best moves was when i was 19, i dumped the best looking girl in town for not putting out.
years latter she ended up about 20 stone with 6 kids.. dogged a bullet

First wave I caught on the first board I had made at Whoopi - made the drop and the wave then fell off in disbelief. Could not believe that a board I had made actually worked !! Evidence of that first wave shock.

That's classic Ted....love that.

....nice board too !

I was riding a twin keel fish in about 2007 on these fast little sections and the feeling I had from the drive down the line and the sensation of a keel setup has stuck with me ever since - just seemed so different to anything I had ever felt before or since - so, it wasn't a 'move' per-say but a 'ride'.

Makes me smile every time I think back to that day.

Longboarding ? I snapped the nose off a Jackson 9'4 in the early '00's and after it was repaired it was the easiest board in the world to nose ride....have never done them that well either before the repair or on any other board since.

Also remember a backhand figure 8 re-entry (is that a roundhouse) on a Dane Wilson 9'4 Jackson in '98 that was like an out of body experience. Everytime I'm at South Cronulla beach I remember that session - glory days. LOL.

These are the shot's from the first two sessions mentioned...stoked I had shots from those days, wish I had one from the Southies session.

Probably the funnest manoeuvre I have landed so far was a grab rail snap right in the pocket of a close out. Hit it with heaps of speed and whipped around and come out of the foam still standing

Moves I enjoy the most on a LB atm are taking off, switch footing, lining up a floater & switch footing back while I'm up on the foam.

The best move I've pulled of

I convinced my wife that a great family vacation was to the North shore of Hawaii on the start of a winter swell and thoroughly succeeded

Probably that first big drop knee carve or toes over the nose.

But for all that there's nothing like that feeling when you paddle out on a day that's far bigger than you thought, your marking your position by where and when the shark net buoy pops out of the water, and you take off on an absolute scorcher while it feels like you wheels are having a threesome with your Adams Apple.

After years disliking and bagging long boards, the coffee in the themos riders, my best move was actually getting one

Love this post

Well.after bagging people who just stand and trim on a longboard for so long....well my favourite move is the good old trim. Had Macca show me a few things that blew me away and absolutely love it...can't help myself at times and just watch the tail drag through the water,it looks amazing

Me too!!

but I remember a massive day... Bells and Winki was pushing 3x overhead... I surfed Torquay Point, only about 4 people out... Paddled into a bomb set, the offshore wind was holding me up high, the thing is getting bigger and steeper, but I really wanted it... Took a beautiful steep drop, laying a rail, and drove off the bottom with masses of speed! ... I was so happy... Such a long wave... But that big drop and bottom turn put a smile on my dile!

That was on the 9'6 Occasional Pin... Very versatile board...
