I never had one of those. My first weapon was a Mt Woodgee 5'10" swallow tail with deep tail channels that my elder cousin got me. Wicked fun!!!!

First surfboard was a 5'4 swallow tailed belly channeled Neal Purchase Brothers Neilsen board. Orange with multi colour paint flicks. I surfed it on Christmas day, dropped in on a guy, he yelled at me, I fell off and he ran it over. First ding. 2 weeks later the old occy strap hook straightening trick on the way back from D'bah and it's back to the ding shop. I learnt to fix my own dings after 4 weekends on roofs with my old man to pay for the repairs.

But it gets worse doggie Edit sample photo Dad decides to fix it with a handmade fin he made from plywood with the kookest shape"all boards at that time had 8" fins with a fair bit of rake" Well time comes for the first surf with the new fin, Here i am with my long blond hair, brown cord Levis, stripped golden breed tshirt, and sloppy joe, looking straight out of a coke add or SW magazine, well thats what i thought. so i take the board down the beach and my mates see it and start P!SSING them self for what seems 10 min, then started calling it the camel. children are so cruel so i think FECK this and put the board fin down and stood on it til the fin broke when i turned the board around the fin broke and pealed the fiberglass back on one side too the rail well my younger brother sees this and decides to square it with me "over a few crow pecks i gave him a day before" and tells dad. dad then takes the board to get fixed and doesn't give it back until i payed him back. that took bloody months paper boys didnt make that much. God i loved being a kid

My first one was an old Kneelo, think I was about 6, dad got it from one of his mates, it was blue, no idea of the brand, it was a piece of ****. Smacked me in the head a few times so I lost interest in standing up for a while and dad binned it. Next one was a Round nosed 6'4 from pacific dreams. There was also a late 60s early 70s Egan that was around 2, was one of dads old board, would love to still have it.

weiry that is a pisser. my old man got me a uncool cruiser for chrissy when i was 11(uncool because bmx had just come out and my mates even had tuffy wheels) so i decide to remove the mud guards and get it as close as i could to a bmx. well the first ride down the street i see the girl i liked and her friend so i tried to pull off a big mono in front of them. well i was not that good at putting sh1t back together and the moment i heaved that big beast back on one wheel, the bitch of a thing decide to leave the frame. i was farked up badly(physical and pride) my brother told the old boy and he faaarking cracked it. he gave the bike to the kid up the street who i hated

Ted my kids had been surfing an old ( ancient ) Mt Woodgee 5 ft 10 swallow tail with deep channels . I sold it about 4 mths ago to get them something with more floatation . I bought it in Qld at a garage sale about 5 - 10 years back I ve got a picture somewhere see if I can find it . My 1st board was a 7 foot single fin bought it from the old surf shop which used to be on palm beach years ago . Paid $15 for it buggered if I can remember the brand of it . Second board was a 5 ft 10 sky twin fin with a rainbow pattern across it . I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen at the time . Had it for years

First surfing experience was with the old rubber surf-o-plane. Used to have to have lungs like pammy anderson to blow it up. At least you could take it in the flag area.
