Back on the comp Medina will he make it past the second round A lot are saying no.

He won at BIG Chopes earlier in the year - he also stayed on in Hawaii for a very long time at the end of tour in 2013 to do some serious training for this winter season. I see no reason why he can not go deep into the comp unless he bottles it due to the pressure. He is definitely a good enough surfer to make the semi's if you ask me. I am pretty sure he will win the Pipe contest at some stage of his career - lets hope its not this year !

He is also at $11 to win the event As much as i don't want to see it, it might be worth a punt..

Dark horse would be Dusty Pain, $26

Where are those odds from Jb. I went to back him today but Not listed on sporting bet?

Also think Bourez is a good chance at $26

maybe they forgot about him? Surely not?

https://www.sportingbet.com.au/surfing/10095155/d/billabong-pipeline-masters-top-4

looks like these guys forgot him as well

centrebet.com/#Sports/9528942

and these guys

www.tomwaterhouse.com/surfing/9528943/d/billabong-pipeline-masters-event-winner

but then again they are owned now by the same group

but then my old friends at the TAB have him listed at $51!

I am all over that like a cheap shot

Done

Winner | PAYNE DustySat 20/12/2014 | 0:00 | ASP Pipeline Masters Winner 20/12 | TAB Prop No. 185037
Fixed odds win51.00
Bet amount (win)$20.00

Potential collect$1,020.00Total bet cost$20.00

He is up against Slater in the first round - but he will get a second chance if he does not make it through. But he has been on fire the last 3 weeks - and is a known Pipe performer.

crap conditions at Pipe - still too much sand at the end section. A shame - imagine you are in the trails with 3 other surfers and all pumped and no decent waves come through all heat ! Ahhh Well that scenario just unfolded on the previous heat.

there were a couple of good wipeouts early. That was a ripper of a wave - thanks for posting as I have been out all day and not had a compute run front of me for a change so missed lots of the action.

^^ well thought out scoring system.

Could the Asp do similar? Comps in good waves are ranked higher than those in shizz?

Guess over each asp comp the conditions are so varied it would be tough to rank each comp.

I'm just going to say it... I found the men's LB World Title footage posted on her a bit uninspiring compared to the stuff we see on Malo's "More longboarding" thread, or compared to the Noosa Festival stuff. I guess it's a matter of SOUL.
(Still glad Harley Ingleby won, cos his free surfing is great.)

The ones doing it for "soul" probably get paid more too..

And that's not being insulting to anyone, just the soul side is a lot more marketable at the moment. which is a bit ironic?

Well I did not even watch it so could not comment - just had a quick look and it looked like a fun wave but they might as well have had a shortie underneath them. Give me some of those clips that Malo and SP post any day of the week.
