Heres a few shots of some fins and rails on boards I have.

This is the fin on my log. Bloody big fin and would hate to get hit by one of these.Notice the 50 / 50 rails.

This is the pivot fin on my ten footer and it seems to work good. When I picked the board up I expected a more modern looking dolphin fin on it but was told these work good. It was screwed in around about centre and hasn't been moved since.

I accidently hit the post button but heres the 2+ 1 set up on a more performance type board.

Heres a rocker shot of the log and one of the tail.

I had a bit of a play with some fins yesterday at A, it's not a secret that I prefer a single just so I can get waves on the 10'6" but on the big faces up at A, I didn't feel too comfy on either the forehand or the backhand turns with the 10" dolphin.
Rather than go to the standard 9" with the 3.75" side bites, I went down to an 8" set as far back as the box would allow, along with the 3.75" bites.
Seemed to work well on the bigger waves, paddled just as good, had plenty of drive and the turns felt more confident.
I'll probably just save that set up for the bigger days.

BWT, I think I pinched a nerve in my lower back when I got caught under a closeout at Diggers beach late yesterday arvo so I could hardly walk this morning let along go for a surf, but I still pulled into Crescent on the way back just for a look because I thought it may have been big.
Was it ever, I just wished I had a better camera or been able to walk out to the point to get a better shot for you.
Not really sure if you can seen this guy.

Thats a 9'1 x 22 1/4 / 2 3/4 performance type board shaped by Mark Rabbidge. The rails are rolled down pretty fine and its pretty thinned out in the nose and tail. Its good in better waves but the dark brown single fin turd is a real surprise package. Thats the one I'd like to take to Medewi.

Crazy the guys name is Dai Thomas . I think we worked for McTavish before he went out on his own and now shapes under the Zed label. Heres a log he did for my nephew. Its really thinned out with bladey rails and a lot of tail kick.

flex is really nice smh they flex more due to the fact that they have that ply core....IMO...its a better flex than a solid glass.
