Chrispy If you got out with board in one piece and body intact you did well I was there at 9 looked and went home.
we did a paddle from rainbow about 10 to 10.30 ish. tide getting down and breaking wide. we got smacked getting out. take a foamie head on and the boards just got pushed side ways from the sweep and swell direction. the main worry is not 'taking out' any of the thousands out there

Crowds varied from 1 to 15 throughout the days.....lots of waves to go around 2ft here this morning - wind is from the SW but light. Its pissing down so no camera shots.....surf looks terrible fingers crossed things improve as the tide heads out. There was on nice bank but the board riders were setting up for their comp so I flagged it.

15, that's ridiculous overcrowding Ted.. . Did you look at Creso at all, any waves there? Here's a clip for you, Raglan, last week..

SP - I never went out when there were that many in the water - I hate crowds I had a quick look at crescent on the way out but it had nothing.....well it had a few coming through but seemed to be missing it and had a few crew in the water as you would expect. Nice clip of Raglan there - looks like low tide at the Ledge at Manu Bay. Super fun section that one. Whats funny is that where they were all jumping off and exiting the wave it had only just begun....there would have been a bunch of people entering it there and getting 100m plus rides.....The ledge is right on take off. Can be a bit sketchy when the tide is low and its that size or bigger. The SE wind was not helping them either - creates a nice bit of chop on the face. They did well. Just back from a fun 2 - 3 ft beachie session. The rain has kept the weekend crowd away and surfed a peak with my neighbour only. Joy. No wind down here so its super glassy. Long lulls between sets though. You getting any up your way?

Just returned home from a little trip to Byron sorry no photos, with boofy and chrispy. Pup simliar conditions to your trip mate but overcast and rain the water was warm just boardies and jacket Today's winner of the wave pig award goes to chrispy with boofy a close second,I was happy to get a few double over head bombs out the back while the boys played in 4 foot sliders. Nah it was 2 to 3 and running from the point into Clarkes and a walk back,I wasn't really getting into it today, always good to surf with mates. Then we had a coffee and a snack and heading out of town you guessed it we popped into mct,I do believe boofy found a very nice board that may just be his in the coming weeks. Dave was kind enough to open the shaping bay so I could eye off my newie, wow I asked for some lower rails and some chimes and have they done a job on this blank. All this while Chrispy was asked to man the shop geez Yet another great day thanks boofy and chrispy

yep super fun day. i still shake my head at how the numbers drop in the water when it rains. i love surfing in the rain. so today was a big conveyer belt for me. catch wave, ride wave for ages, walk back up beach, get sucked out in the sweep straight to another wave waiting. who would ever think that at the pass hey thanks again mac for the drive mate

Yeah you'd be sick of the crowds after pp Much the same up here surf wise as down there, few around. Sounds like Byron was a good day out, you boys are lucky it's so close... no photos is a bit piss poor. But glad you all got some waves.

There was nothing down here today of any merit but even so, I went and had a look at queeny and I counted 35 boards in roughly a 50 metre stretch of nothing. I looked at it for 10mins and did not see much above a ripple come through. I did get some waves further up the coast, but only because my board is so damn big.

Great days surfing , got off to a bad start the stepson who came down for the weekend to see the footy and have a surf walked outside and chickened out on me . Text the surfing mate and he was off to kids footy so loaded the boards and headed off on my own . Surf out the front of Penguin very blown out with about a 20 knot easterly so ventured over to Preservation Bay to get out of the wind . Found some nice 3 foot swell so jumped in . About 10 minutes latter was joined by 4 others . Surfed for about 1 1/2 hours before noticing the young girl sitting beside me had her hands turning blue so baled out . When I hit the beach noticed my toes were completely numb . 2 hot showers and about 2 hours latter had all feeling returned . Was it worth it ? F..k yes a fun day . Unfortunately the southerlys are predicted to return again tomorrow so that's probably it for the week for me . Sorry no pics left the camera in the wifes car after the footy
