Been there a couple of times, beautiful spot. There is exxy/fancy accom. right on the point where the break is. Also accom. pretty much on the corner where the turnoff is from the highway to the beach that is well priced and looked nice. Next door is a local homestay, ghetto but cheap as chips, and the owner is really nice. The break is mellow and fat, unless you surf the inside shallow section over the rocks with the locals. Is good fun on a big swell with a fish, nice long rides. A few other breaks around the area depending on tide, none are world class though. It is a beautiful area, if you ride up into the hills there is a cool tree trunk that has a road passing through the centre of it. Non-surfing, scenery, relaxing, fishing(fishing boats further down the beach), not too far to drive up and catch a ferry across to Java. Enjoy Matt

had about 3-4 days there 14 years ago, bet its changed a bit since then, or maybe not. We stayed in a loseman ate nasi ayan and ikan and rice most nights and drank icy cold bitans... absoloute bliss The wave is mello, fat and can be a constant paddle to stay in position on some tides (cant remember which now) I had a few good surfs on a 8' mini gun/funboard (len dibben built specifically for my indo trip), I remember long rides plenty of cut backs and jelly arms from paddling back to the takeoff. After medewi we headed over to Java, went up the volcano, did the temples then headed to central south coast via local bus a ferry along a river eating salted duck eggs and drinking more bintan. We scored a head high right hand point/beach break, three surfs a day between fried rice, banna pancakes and cold beers... surfed myself silly there for a week... ah good times

You might want some booties for the urchins from memory. Pretty mellow place. Enjoy.

Beware the meat(?) balls from the vendor in the carpark. I had a bit of blue metal in one once. A sign of road kill?

There is definitely urchins...but funny story on my last trip only one of us guys wore booties out of 4...mate with the booties was the only one to find the urchins! The restaurant on the corner is the ****!! Watch out for the fridge in the main restaurant area...the frame and door was live with electricity and you have ot open it via the gaffa tape on the handle.
