Hi ya all. I need some advice once again please. The picture of the center board & the universal, would they fit my board, I believe it's a Ten Cate. Now on my board the slot where the uni goes I have measured 11cm wide & 9cm deep, the seller has measured the uni at 9cm wide & 10.5 deep, to me this seems feasible and should be the right part. What do you reckon my friends

Hi Chrisbede,

No the centreboard and mast base wont be compatible with the old WINDSURFER One Design. Back in the days of old if spares used to be made from wood. The centreboard in that board just drops in and has a strap on top to lift it out..believe it or not the way to sail with the centreboard up(downwind) was to wear the centreboard in the crook of your elbow(a bit like an old lady's hand bag!). The mast base was made out of a piece of wood...the original product was black plastic. You could use a block of nylon or similar.

Those boards are quite sought after and yours looks in good condition so I would look after it! Ok to SUP on if you don't have anything else!!

Cheers!

nope, like manoverboard said, those bits are most likely off a tencate runner, your board is an early windsurfer one design.
shouldn't be hard to find bits for the windsurfer, we often see them at our local recycler/resourcerecoverycentre/tip.
yesterday i bought a complete winsurfer same as yours fo $50 advertised in the local paper, there's bound to be the same where you are.

edit; can be confusing, some windsurfer onedesigns were made in europe under liscence by tencate and may have bits with tencate stamped on them. i wouldn't think yours does, mine doesn't though i have seen one locally.

The 'mast step' is what was fitted to the Ten Cate Spacer which had three positions. The track into which it fitted had matching slots on the side to catch the mast foot as it was moved by the peddle. It has a tensioning screw adjuster.

The 'daggerboard' might be generic fun board e.g. as used on the Bombora Big Toy.

the dagger is a tyronsea/BIC and Bombora type daggerboard, and the Mast foot is off a TC Spacer or similar. It is identical to my old spacer one except mine was black not white.

If you are heading up QLD way I would love to take the BIC 210 off ya hands.

The old bomboras (big toy, south pacific, Capricorn) used an "allagier" brand daggerboard system. The daggerboard in the picture looks a lot like an allagier one to me.

Some of the current Star-boards use an almost identical system, which I am told is allagier. It is on the Star-board "start" and possibly the "rio".

This daggerboard may well fit the bic, but wouldn't work on the one design.

The general outline and approximate dimensions of the mastfoot are vaguely similar to the windsurfer one, and could be modified (butchered?) to fit.
