Mast storage in the Van

I wanted some tidy storage for my masts when on the road so I made this:

Done a really nice job there. I like the board tie down arrangement without the occy straps that the kids always want play with.

Also how did you shape the template for the board racks. Some nice curves there which are always easy on the eye.

Great style and workmanship, but I wonder if the full lenght supporting panel is warranted, 2-3 brackets would leave air flowing for those humid days...

I wanted full length support for the bags while the masts are out. Make re-insertion easier.

There were pattern-routed in 17mm plywood with a masonite pattern (4 pieces making two racks 34mm thick). It was time consuming and not all that effective. I'd do it differently next time.

Here's some more pics after a coat of polyurethane. The hardwood strip is an attempt to control sliding about.
This stuff is fun.

Easy re-insertion is always good, for masts as well.

love all these interior design ideas
not all of us have the luxury of vans long enuff
has anyone done anything similiar for a roof top ??
that might work for smaller van or car ??
i am NOT ready for the trailer route {yet}

I like it! Wish I had a van haha stuck using a sedan for now
