The more I think about it the more a cup a month would dilute the seasonal cups worth, I think seasonal with cups 4 per year makes them more of a treasure

Just make the cup on the middle month of each season so the pit crew can plan it

Kaleb from the Tassie Speedseekers put together this great little table of team contributors for each month. AUS02 suggested it would be great as part of the TC website and I'm +1 on the suggestion. If it's too difficult to programme maybe Kaleb can do a table of all the teams Original thread http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Tasmania/TSS-GPS-TC-Contributors-2010/

I used to do something like that (nowhere near as sophisticated), for our team at the end of the month, but it met with a bit of controversy, so I stopped doing it. There's different attitudes to this sort of thing, some people won't like it.

Decrepit, I understand some people may be sensitive to something that actually attributes to the best of any team, but I for one, who in two years sailing for the Moreton Bay Mob probably only contributed once or at best twice out of a possible 288 (12 x12 x 2 times) times, has no problems with acknowledging the guys who do consistently get us the points each month. PS -I get really worked up when the modern education system society ends up handing out awards to everyone so as not to hurt anyone's feelings. My saying for this is "excellence in mediocrity" PS - Rant over

How about some little icons underneath the person's avatar, that say things like: "Contributed to Alpha for this month" "Contributed to Nautical Mile for this month" Of course the icons would be a lot smaller that that clunky text... Eg: Person (1234 km) *********** *********** *********** * AVATAR * *********** *********** *********** 2 categories this month ( A ) (Nm) P.S. Anyone want to design some icons for me? Hint hint

Hey wow that was quick! The icons look great, but perhaps they are a bit big? 6 of them have to fit across a 100 pixel box. The Hour and Alpha ones from Lao could be used I think, if they were scaled down. 15 x 15 px would be about right I reckon.

Great idea to recognise team contribution. It would be good to reward those who contribute to their team the most, perhaps a tally of contribution awards over the year.

5 minute sketch with my kids colouring pens (well the black one anyway) . It's very rough but you get the idea.

Looks good Sausage and Lao! I would like rounded corners (or circular icons), and different colours for the 6 buttons. Apart from that those icons would be perfect!

Yep that's it Lao, I'd do them at 30 x 30 px, then resize to 15x15, that would make them less jaggy. Colours... erm... no idea? ROYGBIV?

Nice work Lao. I reckon the 5 x 10 would be better as a large numeral "10" with a subscript "5" in lieu of the "5x" that I sketched. Another option for the Nm could be the numerals "1852" although probably too long for a small logo. PS -My distance logo "tape measure" looks more like piano keys

Tried subscript at 30x30 then resize but it disappears. Not much difference at 30x30

Rather than knots per kilogram, how about just having weight categories - eg in 5 or 10kg increments. We already have age categories and rankings can be filtered according to age, so why not weight also?

I would like to see a 48 hour rule for posting a session which affects the teams monthly score. I hate waiting to see if someone is hiding a score Lets have a rule requiring openness!
