These are going to be three great nights!

The first event will be the Newcastle one, hosted by Marmong Point Sailing Club. It would be great to see a big turn out of Hunter, Central Coast and Mid-North Coast windsurfers to a huge family friendly night of windsurfing movies, gear displays and fun.

Date: Thursday 15th August, 2013
Time: 6:30pm arrive for 7pm Movie Start
Location: Lake Cinema, 62 Main Rd, Boolaroo

In addition to the latest wavesailing blockbuster, "Don't Let Go", at the Newcastle event we will also be showing the classic flatwater speedsailing movie from Sandy Point, Victoria called "Quickly Go Mad". As Des said, both films will look amazing on the big screen at Lake Cinema.

Quickly Go Mad, thanks to Drift Media for their support - click the link below to show the trailer.

"Quickly Go Mad" is a speed sailing documentary focussing on the sailors who flock to Sandy Point, Victoria for the annual Speed Fortnight event.

The event sponsors - The Windsurfing Shed and Windsurf n Snow will also have some brand new demo equipment there to check out, and team riders will be on hand to answer questions.

As Anne and Sam said, all profits from these movie events across NSW will go towards funding new Junior Windsurf programs being established next summer.

Tickets are available:
- from Marmong Point Sailing Club - cash only (George St, Marmong Point) from 1pm on Saturdays between now and the event.
- over the phone via credit card from WindsurfnSnow - (02) 9971 0999.

Should be a great night, hope to see you there! Please pass this info on to anyone else in the windsurfing community who might not read Seabreeze, and let's try and fill the 170 seat cinema in Newcastle to overflowing!

Cheers,

James

Only 2 weeks to go until the Newcastle event!

Tickets have been selling well, thanks to everyone who has already called or stopped by Marmong and bought one.

There are still plenty available over the phone from WindSurfnSnow (02) 9971 0999. I will also be at the Marmong Point Sailing Club on Saturday from 1pm onwards if you want to pick up a ticket locally (cash only).

Cheers
James

What time do you finish up at Marmong on Saturday James? I'm passing through around 3:30-4pm and was keen to pick up a ticket on the way.

Yep we should still be there dean. If not at the club, we might be sailing slalom off the point around the corner. My blue trailer is pretty easy to spot. Cheers

Gday everyone,

Only two days until the Newcastle event. Going to be a great night!

We have a stack of giveaways to be handed out on the night via lucky door prize draw, including DVDs from WindsurfNSnow and t-shirts from The Windsurfing Shed.

We will also have a range of new gear on display from Exocet and Mauisails together with an Inflatable SUP from Windgenuity. We will also have some kids rigs set up courtesy of WindsurfnSnow and will give some more details of the plans for the Kids Windsurfing Program happening over the summer.

We have sold about 50 tickets at this stage, including half a dozen kids tickets which is great. Thanks to everyone who has supported the event so far, with people coming from as far away as Forster and Sydney. There are still plenty of seats available so either call WindsurfnSnow on 9971 0999 (credit card), or pick them up on the night (cash only). If buying on the night, make sure you get there well before 7, so you have plenty of time before the movies start. Would also be appreciated if you could have the right change for your tickets.

Here's all the details:

Thursday 15th August
Lake Cinema, 62 Main Rd, Boolaroo
6:30pm for 7pm movie start.
Tickets $25 adults, $12.50 for ages 10-18, $5 under 10's

Cheers
James

Thanks to everyone who came along last night for the Newcastle event. We had a great turnout of almost 50 people and pretty sure everyone enjoyed watching Spotty crack 50 knots at Sandy Point and Robby Swift and crew sailing epic waves in Chile and Maui. Plenty of people also walked away with some great door prizes thanks to The Windsurfing Shed and WindsurfnSnow! If you're in Sydney or Canberra, make sure you get your tickets now for your local event.

It was really encouraging to see quite a few kids there with their parents. Hopefully they were inspired to get into windsurfing and we can see them on the water this summer.

If you would like to see Quickly Go Mad again, contact Drift Media directly, and they can sell you a copy of the Quickly Go Mad DVD.

Thanks again to the various sponsors and supporters that helped these events happen:

- WindsurfnSnow for Logistics, Ticket Sales, DVD Prizes and kids rigs for display
- The Windsurfing Shed for demo boards, demo sails and a stack of Mauisails/Powerex prizes
- Windgenuity for financial and logistics support, Naish inflatable SUP demo board
- o ceanet.com.au for race sail display and poster design for promotion
- Starboard for financial support
- Drift Media for granting us the rights to show "Quickly Go Mad"
- Flo Jung and Joel Ryan for donating the rights to show "Don't Let Go"
- Lake Cinema and BAX AV for their support on the night and flexibility

A special thanks also needs to go to Kerry Bergmann for all of her hard work behind the scenes to make this (and the other two events) happen.

Tickets are now available for the upcoming Sydney event on 5th October. Make sure you call or drop in soon to see the team at Windsurf n Snow for tickets (02 9971 0999) as last time the Sydney movie night sold out.

Cheers,
James

A big thanks to Windsurf and Snow for the prizes at the raffle and putting the night on. They are great supporters of Winsurfing. The movie was awesome and made me want to get off my wally board and get back to wavesailing. I think thats how I wrecked my knees in the first place.

Also thanks to Kerry for her organising on the night and inspiring me to get back to my roots of sailing and get back on a windsurfer.
I am afraid that big keel boats just dont cut it any more unless they are doing about 20knts plus.
The wetsuit that I won is my first new wetty in 10 years and will get an absolute pounding next winter and when I go down to Vico in december.

Anyway great night

Aloha
