Seen there r instrctor courses in Mosman Manly by Flyingfish Online. Did anyone here do that and would liketo share the experience?

Also any Windsurf instructors here to share their work experience? Is it usually a part time work?

Hey mate,

I did the course when I first came over from the UK. I used it as a bit of a time filler while I decided what I wanted to do with my life really. It's all pretty straightforward and you'll get your start windsurfing instructors, powerboat and first aid all through Flying fish. They are a good bunch of guys but don't go expecting the latest kit or epic sailing as the main focus is dinghy sailing and bigger yachts.

I don't see there being much call for fulltime instructors in Australia but if you want to do some travel, meet some like minded people and have time on the water then it's a pretty good thing to do. I know plenty of people that have done it for a few years and loved every minute, some of whom have moved on and set up their own centres in various countries or become involved in private tuition. You need to rack up the hours to move up the levels which will give you more chance of getting to a high wind centre.

Give them a call and find out how many are already booked as I know they've been struggling to get the numbers a little bit for windsurfing and it may be a bit dull with just a couple of people.

Best of luck

I did my windsurfing cert almost 10years ago through, what was the AYF (aus yacht fed).
It was an add-on for sailing instructor cert.

Having it did land me some sweet gigs working for SA education dept., in summer camps in the US of A and on Hamilton Island, but it was all on a young, ski bum lifestyle.
I'd also be very surprised if anyone in Australia is paid fulltime to windsurf instruct. Hell kite instructors barely are and unfortunately the demand is higher then for windsurf instructors.

I would however recommend doing it, as it's been super fun, getting my mates and family into it, the correct way.
