Hey bowsa, where are you calling Twin Waters? Mudjimba or off the Nth shore spit? Thought it would have been too offshore today?

Mast high cross offshore session at twin waters. Hectic to say the least. Many attempts to get out of back but once you did it was worth it! Nice to get some down the line on the sunshine coast

Hey mate, Yeah i should have said North Shore... It was very offshore and very gusty and an absolute b*tch to get out through the current and break. I fluked it and got out. Was on 5.4 DUKE and 87 QUAD and it was about right. Too underpowered in the lulls, way overpowered in the gusts. Super fun though, and big big waves. My good friend Wilba got some pics, i'll try and post some if i get a chance soon. Don't normally sail there but it seemed the only place in the south west on the sunshine coast. We normally sail at mudjimba if its true south, or Neill St (caloundra) or Beachmere in a SSE. Chris

Nice to get some down the line on the sunshine coast look froward to the picks! youv'e done well to get out, through the break in that wind, did you launch up near the rock island at the mouth? Checked it out this morn..suicide today, its FUGE never seen it so big on the Nth Shore there is actually 3 sections of reef breaking about a mile off shore, like some sort of Sunshine coast Jaws! Coolum looked like Maui on a big day this morning, so big that no one is even in the water, youd need to be tow'd in I think!

Here's a few shots from Maroochydoore North Shore last Monday. Not too many action shots but a few to show the size/conditions. Got some epic waves, once out the back. Was a mega break to get through. It was refreshing to see some proper down the line conditions in SE QLD with some big waves. Can't remember the last time we had good proper wavesailing conditions in QLD! Normally just good jumping or freestyle sessions. More proper waves please, with a less brutal shorebreak thanks. Thanks to Will for the great photos. Chris

Nice one chris, well scored on a cross off day in QLD! Looks like an easy day to get smashed and have a big swim.... Good photo's too. Martin

hey martin, yeah it was awesome! would have been better if will could have got out too... i totally fluked it in getting out the back. @ murrarie, i was the only one out but as i just said, only by fluking it though the break! will (the other guy at beachmere that day) just was unlucky in wave gaps / gusts
