A few shots from Main Beach on Saturday. 8.6m's on 107 + 120 with Julien Ventalon. Such a nice spot to sail when the surf is on the small side, need to reclaim it back from the kiters.

Cripes you wouldn't want to drop the cammed sail in the surf! No doubt you didn't..

True... you would probably break your mast and every single batten then your boom.

When the surf is small though it's pretty easy to push out through it and then we were just staying out the back for most of the afternoon. Super nice with the rolling swells out the back. Not too many sharks.

Is it the eighties again!!

No, it's just Sean promoting that you can windsurfing almost anywhere. Just stuff.

If the archieves are accurate, the northern end of Main Beach use to be where the Coolongatta windsurfer marathon use to finish ??

The Hifly Race 360 and your best Mylar 7.5m was the weapon of choice but then.

Awesome shots and well done for staking a claim and flying the flag for windsurfers. Did you plan on using big kit or were you expecting something to brew out of the North Easterly that was developing? I got skunked at Wello waiting for my fav new NE spot to develop only to see the wind fall away when the storm developed.

I wanted to use something smaller but the typical Frenchman only brought one sail (8.6) so I rigged the same to be fair to him. Wasn't super windy to begin with... about 16-18 knots but got +20 by the end of the afternoon so we were a bit maxed on the big kit!

Shouldn't this be in the wavesailing section?
